Our class ranking is not as high as some of these other schools, but we obviously have some talent. Obviuosy, if you are recruited by Alabama, you are obviously a 5 star, and if you are recruited by UNC you are luck to be a 4 star (sarcasm meter on 100).

We have some talent too coming in on defense that didn't get mentioned. Although we didn't get one or two of our main targets, this class should represent UNC well in the coming years.

Good find. Too many people limit themselves to one source, for their opinion on recruiting rankings. Across the board, we definitely have a great class.

Selection committee must like Switzer an awful lot - they put him on 1st team as an athlete - on defense.
Everyone recruited him for offense, Carolina as a slot receiver.

This is most likely the best Carolina has ever done.

How We Picked the Team: In selecting the All-America Team, PARADE contributor Brian McLaughlin, who covers college recruiting for the Sporting News, considered all-state teams, state player of the year honors, and statistics, as well as his own observations at games. Offensive players needed to show "eye-popping numbers against good competition" during their senior season and to exhibit strong college-level potential, as measured by the interest they've had from prominent programs, he says. As for defensive players, McLaughlin says he looked for playmakers who could change games with interceptions, sacks, tackles for loss, or blocked kicks. "They need to have had a big senior year," he says, "and they need to be headed places."

I'll take a class that gets the Heels to a BCS bowl.

I HOPE WE CAN FINALLY PLAY IN AN ACC TITLE GAME AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL STILL BE IN CHARLOTTE SO A LOT OF HEELS FANS CAN SEE IT.

Don't get too hung up on this Parade AA stuff. Ravon Anderson and Billy Dee Greenwood were also Parade AAs in the early 2000s, and look where that got us. Interested to see these guys in fall camp. Really hope the d line recruits can help us next year.
