looks like he'll be really good. But radio show dude today made a comment about the overall quality in WVA not being the best, so the highlights may not show the accurate picture. But apparently he's got the skillset and talent to probably compete immediately.

True, but I still dont think it matters what state you play for, when you are the #1 player in that state....2 years in a row...I think it speaks volumes about the kids talent.

My God, if this kid had a decent quarterback he would have had 10,000 yards of offense. Imagine what he can do with a quarterback who can actually hit him in stride.

We have a decent QB.

And speaking of QBs Trubisky is as solid as they come. He will make a large impact here!

i like renner but hitting receivers in stride isn't his forte.
i still think he's playing game one. i like this kid already.

Everybody so high on switzer but i really need to see him against college type players b4 i jump on his band wagon. I really dont see him hitting the field this yr unless injury bug bites us hard. K. Davis S. Tapley Thorpe and Logan will all se time at A- back. Maybe kick return or something but on offence highly doubtful

He looks pretty good. Not sure why we didn't want him. He looks like a white Tavon Austin.

The highlight at 12 is amazing, runs a kid down from the other side of the field forces the fumble and recovers it

I'll bet you $1000 that he plays This Year, on Offense, from Scrimmage

The state absolutely matters. Past WV POY's have been walk-ons or Division 2 players. The state's talent is truly awful. Not that Switzer isn't what a lot of you think he is, it's just FAR from a sure thing

Maybe I've been out of the loop but I missed ever hearing about that Roy Williams/Ron Burgundy interview that was on the right.
Switzer looks darned good.

He's done well in camps and all-star games. Also had offers from some major programs. FSU and PSU wanted him pretty badly.

Switzer is definitely good enough to play this year, however it may be better, (for the team) if he could red-shirt and put on about 15-20 lbs. of muscle without losing any of his lightning speed!!!!!! Same with Logan!!!!!! We have some nice returning talent at A-Back and RB, plus Francis is better built for RB,(now) and in School already!!!!

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Ryan Switzer openly admitted a rare weakness last week on his Twitter feed.

It turns out the 2011 Kennedy Award winner is afraid of heights, and wasn't too thrilled about making a flight to Oregon for The Opening at the Nike headquarters.

Once safely on the ground the George Washington rising senior and North Carolina football commitment did plenty of flying of a different kind. According to several college football recruiting directors, writers and analysts across the nation, Switzer was one of the top movers in the invitation-only field of 150 of the country's top prospects.

"I don't want to sound conceited, but I did work," Switzer said with a laugh upon his return to Charleston. "I did good.

"I knew that if I didn't show up and play, I was going to get embarrassed. There wasn't a weak link out there. It was top-of-the-line competition."

The three-day event in Beaverton, Ore., consisted of a day of testing and skill training with current and former NFL standouts followed by two days of 7-on-7 competitions.

Switzer's team, Super Bad, won the 7-on-7 championship, and the 5-foot-9, 170-pound receiver - who plays running back for GW - was named an All-Tournament selection.

A steady stream of Twitter accolades seemed to follow Switzer's every move on the Nike campus:

* "In this setting Ryan Switzer is pretty much uncoverable," wrote Bud Elliott of SB Nation Recruiting on Saturday.

* "UNC commit Ryan Switzer could be the next Wes Welker," tweeted Carlos Liston of the USC-affiliated Reign of Troy.

* "As good as (Alabama quarterback commit and Super Bad QB) Cooper Bateman has been, Ryan Switzer has played a big part in it. Just caught his third TD pass from Bateman this game," tweeted Brandon Hufman, the national college football recruiting analyst for FOX Sports.

Switzer caught 12 touchdown passes in two days of play.

I can't wait for football season to get here! This kid is going to be special imho and I think he plays this year.

There will always be the Wes Welker comparisons. However, in the open field his quick feet and sharp cuts remind me of another Tar Heel, Ronald Curry.
