Okay Kentucky...

Since this seems like SEC day on IC here is a Kentucky story for everyone.

www.kentucky.com/2013/01/28/24...nd-workers.html

"Lexington-based Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing operated a "massive pyramid scheme" involving more than 100,000 people and hundreds of millions of dollars, Kentucky and federal officials allege in a lawsuit against the company. Fortune Hi-Tech was founded in 2001 by Paul Orberson, a Danville native and high school basketball coach who made his initial fortune with multilevel marketing through Excel Communications. He has donated at least $638,000 to University of Kentucky Athletics, making him title sponsor of the Paul Orberson Football Office Complex at the Nutter Training Facility."

This is also the company that employees parents of Kentucky basketball players.

I guess this shuts down ONE of UKs job shelters for their players parents. But don't worry, there are probably many more.

But I'm sure when it comes to recruits the guy that ran a pyramid scheme wouldn't stoop to paying players, that's a violation of NCAA rules! "U"K has a long and distinguished history of abiding by those. I'm pretty sure they've never even committed a minor NCAA violation and remember, they brought in Cal because they wanted to keep their record pure and none of the schools he's coached at have run afoul of the NCAA either.

Now now, we probably should not talk about parents receiving improper employment benefits. Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black?

History has shown that your kettle is much blacker than our pot.

There is no arguing that. They "supposedly" have good people in place now making sure that doesn't happen any more and making our coaches lives difficult for a good cause. But this big boosters are probably used to having their ways. It is hard to change a culture that has existed for decades.

I think for the most part, 99% of the people out there try to do it right. It's just that sneaky, rotten 1% that ruin it for everyone.

A vast majority in the sporting world would have to agree with that.

"She’s working in human resources at Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing, a job she found when she moved from Florida to Lexington in November."

I feel pretty certain the job found her, not the other way around!
