I have football tickets at SCar because I like to see good football and they have it now. But while I am in the stands I am silently cheering against them. I believe that you will be treated well next August in Columbia (great tailgating) as there are a lot of really good people down here and that's the reason I have raised a family here. But if you act like a jerk they will treat you like one.

I will vouch for uscheel as a gentleman and a scholar. If I can loosen up my schedule and get tickets next August, he's one of the folks I want to visit in Cola. As for the other comments here, yes, there was a lot of bad blood and hostility between SCar and the rest of the ACC before and after they seceded from the conference. McGuire tended to recruit "Gangs of New York" type players there - and I realize his UNC players were also from NY, but I don't recall Rosenbluth, etc. being a TreeHUGger - and their roughneck style of play was seen as very abrasive in the finesse-oriented ACC of the day. As for the mountain of conceit accusing the vale of humility of arrogance, I don't doubt they believe that but it is humorous.

And Rev, one of my bucket list items is to have "communion" with you in August. Hope Jr. will be able to join us.

McGuire recruited working class kids from mostly Irish neighborhoods in NYC. Riker, Roche, Cremins etc weren't really any different types than Doug Moe, Donnie Walsh, Billy Cunningham etc.

Rough they were, but by today's standards they'd be choirboys. all of them ended up being professionals in many areas. Roche a lawyer in Colorado ect.

Yes. Lil Carolina is a bit demeaning. I prefer Lesser Carolina, Lower Carolina, Carolina Junior, Sub Carolina, Inferior Carolina, or Baja Carolina.

Been down there a lot lately. Pretty lame. After a cordial greeting from a decent poster down there they turned on me when I offered an opinion. I started the spurrier thread down there and the mods have been editing everything I've said. I never attacked anyone, used foul language or anything. They just can't take another opinion.
