19 spots & 18 commits
Who else do we get? How many more do we take? Kind of like Christmas, can't wait to see who our next Tar Heels will be.

RE: 19 spots & 18 commits
We get North... that should be it. Hopefully adding him we'll have a top 20 class. Not too bad for Fedoras first full year haul.

RE: 19 spots & 18 commits
It seems Tenn is getting him for all the wrong reasons.

Re: 19 spots & 18 commits
So did Lawson visit or will he? Is the 4 star OL from AL just out of the question? JUCO DT from Goldsboro?

Fedora can still over-sign if he wants. He'll have to be down to 19 in August.

Will be interesting to see what comes of DT Tevin Lawson. He has to grey shirt at LSU so he's looking elsewhere.

Can't have too many DL & OL with skills. LSU makes a living off their DL. Hope Coach can finish with a blast!

RE: 19 spots & 18 commits
I'm all for that ^
ETA: Building with great OL and DL prospects... not getting Lawson in particular (since it seems we're out of the running for him).

Re: 19 spots & 18 commits
LSU playing games here. Proof of this is that UNC is even looking at it. UNC knows if LSU said OFFICIALLY no to a class so would UNC. Its Scholly-Games 101, thats all. They probably feel the instate kid loves LSU plus he is probably middle/upper class kid who they KNOW can afford low instate tuition etc. GAMES 101 and FedEX smart as hell to swoop in if this ****** kid/parents off. But like I said, he may love LSU so much he will take the greyshirt offer.

I think some folks would say that you can't have too many (fill in any position here), but the truth is you can. You absolutely CAN have too many at a single position especially in a scholarship crunched situation, but I agree that we need DL with skills moreso than most positions (maybe the #1 spot of concern). I know it sounds like sour grapes, but we didn't need North--he was a luxury. We need DL and we need corners. We've got several WR coming back off of injury (TJT, Wilkins) and several more that red-shirted. We have bodies and we have some VERY good WR's. I have never bought into this # of receivers that the staff claims is needed to run this offense. You need a three deep at WR and you need a three deep at TE. You don't need 16 scholarships dedicated to those two positions--it's not like the three WR spots are that different.
All this being said, if we can't get someone who is a quality player, I'd prefer to play at one fewer this year and get a quality early enrollee in January that we can back count to this class. Most freshmen DL aren't ready to contribute anyhow.

I agree... let's don't use it if we can't get value.

Re: 19 spots & 18 commits
The staff has said they can't afford any 'misses' with the reduction in ships. I think they are making sure the player can qualify and they have enough talent and good attitude to develop into a solid player. I heard a coach say they can't afford to take sleepers.
While Davis recruited some great players, there were too many who never showed up that signed in his classes. That's what this staff cannot afford.

Re: 19 spots & 18 commits
UNC can sign 21 next year with one early enrollee which will not count against next year's 20 scholarship limit
