Was at RDU yesterday and noticed three NCSUx coaches standing outside security. They met a young guy who I assume is a football recruit based on his size and the fact that the spring semester has already started (unlikely he is enrolling this late). When he showed up, they each bear hugged him then they immediately decked him out with an NCState warmup jacket, set of NCSU gloves and an NCSU stocking cap and they began snapping photos with him. My question is, I thought rules say team merchandise, equipment or clothing are prohibited items. Does anyone know the answer (not finding any luck thru the NCAA site). Oh and yes, I took pictures!

haha no I think all that kind of stuff is completely fine to give recruits...

We aren't quite as good at this snitching thing, and that is a good thing.

The only thing I can find is an article on recruiting that is not an official NCAA item, but says, "12 If I spend all my cash during a campus visit, can I borrow a few bucks from coach?
The NCAA says a big “NO” to receiving dough and is specified on the list of prohibited offers/inducements, which also includes clothing, equipment, merchandise and free housing."

Please...give it a rest. We are not the aggies. Let them do whatever they want. I just want to kick the $h!t out of them every single game. Nothing more, nothing less.

the BB team went down tonight but for the most part they have held up their end of the bargain. Time to put the foot on the neck of that group in football as well.

You can let them wear it on a visit but they can't keep it.

Can you give a recruit a ride to campus for a recruiting trip?

What is it a two star player?

Seriously, see UNC recruits with UNC gear on all the time. Don't think there is a problem there. Not sure State's new football staff is going to break any rules right off. I would investigate the basketball staff more, they have got to breaking some rules.

I love this whole turn the other cheek mentality we have.. I know lets have NCSU destroy our house, violate our wife, and then laugh at us all the way and then just say let em do what they want..
