enough of the father figure bs .. the man is an OC , his job is to do that first , and he hasn't been very good at that in his career .
Send him all the well wishes on Father's Day

Shoop is a tremendous role model, unless you're trying to become a successful offensive coordinator

Good luck to him. Fortunately, most of us don't perform our jobs publicly.

You have got to be kidding. Shoop may not have been a great OC but he is a very good QB coach. Houston coaches have said one of the reason they drafted Yates was because of the coaching he had in college.

Wow. The animosity towards such a class act is appalling. Shoop is a high character individual. Maybe we didn't set any records while he was OC, but he conducts himself with class. His former players speak very highly of him. As far as Yates growing as a player despite Shoop?! Come on man. Did you see Yates mature as his time in Chapel Hill wore on? Aside from a slight drop in production his junior.year, Yates improved dramatically. Shoop is an excellent man. And I wish him nothing but the best of luck. And some of you need to show some class. Thought I was on the state board for a minute.

The Shoops gave an outstanding presentation on "Faith and Football" this Sunday at my parents' Pinehurst church during the Sunday School hour. Then, Dr. ("Mrs.") Shoop gave the sermon during worship. Just amazing stuff, and wonderful to hear of their influence on the young men of our state over the course of the last 5 years.

"One administrator told me that what happened there is "toxic""
This is what I'm talking about! What a s-bag and so representative of what's running chancellor Coward's show.
And the guy who rejects Shoop's influence on players - you know what kind of delusional (or intentionally hateful!) fool that is. It's why we have the problems we do: such clowns are the idiots behind all of the anti-athletics in the USA. What else need be said? (It's nasty, so just don't...).
UNC will NEVER live down this episode. It's just too horrible for the players unjustly trashed - as Shoop says: it's incomprehensible that such quality people - who proved themselves over and over - would be "thrown under the bus". We must never forget the hate and evil represented by chancellor Coward and his minions. If we do we'll end up repeating the thing again.....
