Ouch. The fact that it sounds as if the NCAA is about to give Haith the equivalent of the coaching death penalty does not bode well for the football team, especially when you consider the b-ball "scandal" was pretty small compared to what they are saying about the football side.

Tim Reynolds @ByTimReynolds This is bad for Miami in that it's more time. This is good for Miami in that this NOA easily could likely look like Swiss cheese soon.

Did read the Part about NCAA improper investigating Miami... Basically they were cheating in attempt at destroying Miami. This may be great news for us!

The NCAA can't even do their own job correctly. Why college sports needs them anymore is beyond me. Blow it up and start over.

Also, if I'm Bubba Cunningham and I'm noticing that the NCAA attempted to illegally obtain information from Miami with the threat of imaginary subpoena power, I am seriously considering legal action against the NCAA in order to recover damages, declaring the probation that UNC is on null and void, and reinstating all 2008 and 2009 wins immediately.
THE NCAA IS A F*****G JOKE

Yes. You are correct, sir.
AT A MINIMUM I would expect Bubba to ask the NCAA to explain how its UNC investigation differed from its U investigation.
And again, I ask one more time, where is the posse from UNC Law riding in to the University's defense?

Re: Supposed improper conduct Miami...notice of alle on hold
I think Miami is corrupt to the core, and was never cleaned up. It's too bad that the NCAA doesn't have legal power to subpeona witnesses, other wise they wouldn't have to resort to conflicts of interest with the prosecutation of an invidual who was a bagman for Miami. Maybe, if the NCAA could force people to talk, then football and basketball would be more cleaned up.

Re: Supposed improper conduct Miami...notice of alle on hold
Lived in Miami recently for 3 years, my fiancé got her masters there. The campus is a dump, the administration is full of hacks (grad school classes entered in the computer system as undergrad classes totally ****** up many students student loan apps and took a month to rectify it). The fan base is horrible! Did meet several hurricane athletes at work, worked 1 mile from campus. The two basketball players were very courteous (regular customers and always a delight, even gave me tickets so I could watch the Heels play). The posse of football players I watched going into the liquor store next door were colossal jerks, loud, obnoxious, and very thuggish (swearing someone in the parking lot, up one side and down the other because the 70+ year old lady wasn't fast enough in getting in the car so they could park in a handicapped spot instead of walking the extra 15 yards to get some booze!).

Does that mean that the NCAA will get a 3-year bowl ban, a loss of 10 salaries a year, and a "show cause" clause?

My brother had a friend who had a cousin who attended a semester at UNC. You are a total ****** if you think you can sell this garbage. Miami's academics have improved, but really you can't talk **** about that at UNC. I grew up in Lauderdale and chose to pay to go to UNC vs. a full ride at Miami because of the disparity. --------------------------------------------- --- PSYOPCANE wrote: My brother had a friend who had a cousin who attended a semester at UNC. More heavy handed tactics on the part of the NCAA investigators -- reminds me of the one who asked for players' cellphones and such at Carolina, and told players who wanted legal representation that they 'didn't need a lawyer if they hadn't done anything wrong'. Burn the dang place down and start over.

Penn State may want to reconsider the deal they took.
I know they are suing for some things, but they may want to consider a reboot of the investigation.

With all this stuff coming up now with the NCAA, what additional penalties do you think Miami will get (on top of the 2 bowl games and ACCCG that Miami self-imposed sitting out of)?

Re: Supposed improper conduct Miami...notice of alle on hold
I never questioned the academics at UM, I did say the campus is a dump though. The University did encourage a UNC employee to leave a nationally respected program to come and build a similar program at "da u". Said professor left UNC to do just that, and did not have the promises made to him fulfilled by the university. The university did nothing to promote the new program, held back on funding, and subsequently canceled the program. All schools have decent programs and I will give credit to RSMAS as they do some really nice work. I befriended many at the RSMAS campus, while attending some seminars, and the small cobia farm is really nice. Having said that, a majority of the school is very poorly managed. I have degrees from the University of Hawaii and USF. My fiance has degrees from NCSU, Duke, and now UM. Wih the exceptions of her classes, everything else was the worst collegiate experience of her life. As far as the poor attempt at an insult "fastfood employee" I made a sacrafice for my fiance and took a decent job in retail management so she could pursue her masters. I am now a fishery biologist for FWC and part time fishing guide in the Tampa area. FWIW a majority of the students in her graduate program only went to UM because of the reputation of the former UNC faculty member who was wronged by the school. I still stand by my crappy fanbase statement, even more delusional than the moo u fanbase. Sorry its soo long board regulars. --------------------------------------------- --- PSYOPCANE wrote: My brother had a friend who had a cousin who attended a semester at UNC. The NCAA should self-impose a bowl ban on themselves...oh...wait! Long but interesting article written about 18 months ago explaining the history of the NCAA organization. After reading this, you understand that they have always been a power hungry organization hiding under the veil of protecting the integrity of amateur athletics. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/10/the-shame-of-colle ge-sports/308643/ --------------------------------------------- --- AlreadyHome wrote: The hammer is coming..... ---------------------------------------------
