looking at IC's board, Bart is the only Adams primary recruit on board. i know the whole staff plays a part in recruiting, just saying. a lot of the big names in 2014 are Brewer, Bell, Duggan, and Jordan recruits.

He must have called them right away. They only lost their dl coach yesterday. At 6am today one of their commits got a call saying the Gamecocks have already received a lot of calls for the position, and for the recruit not to worry.

Doesn't really matter. Can really hurt with Webb and Drennon. He's their position coach.

Never blame an asst for making a move. Like some here are being tough on lapwing he taking care of himself. Which any asst. had better do. They are mercenaries. Just the nature of the beast. If it s true about your guy coming to sc I hope he s a good fit. And good luck to coach lawing.

Speaking of Brad Lawing, don't we at UNC hate him for some reason? I know he used to coach here but since he's left I feel like he did something to make us angry. Might've been through recruiting or our NCAA situation?

Adams was rated top twelve recruiter this year by one recruiting service. To be fair, he did not have the players this past year, overall, but he recruited a good one in Webb.

I agree this kills us with Lawson if we even had a chance. This whole situation seems kind of low on Adam's part. I know coaches are looking for the best opportunity for themselves but the timing stinks and we are playing the team he is going to the very first game. Hopefully we find someone who wants to be here and we at least keep the D-linemen we have committed.

Our chances with Lawson were very slim anyway!!!! Maybe we can get an upgrade on the X's and O's, if we can't find as good of a Recruiter!!!!

Spurrier being Spurrier trying to get an edge. but is Deke really that gullible, what does he think hes done in the past year to be wanted in the SEC. its a lateral move and Deke knows why he got the gig, he sucks.

Well, that sucks. Kind of a sucker punch, but hell....all the folks here all year long wanted someone fired. Like they say...careful what you ask for. Dip shyts...Now we've lost one of the best people at their respective position and someone who has been with Fedora for some time.

I'm sure Spurrier is looking well past his next game in making this hire.
He lands a pretty good recruiter and hurts a team on the rise and making inroads into his state at the same time.
If Fedora managed a coup like this right before signing day, we'd think he was a genius.
Why think any differently of an opposing coach!?
This problem will continue as long as the ACC continues to extract less money on an annual basis than the SEC/Big10?/Big12?. UNC couldn't match Adams pay without increasing the pay of several assistants as well.
NO ACC Athletic Director can commit to that except maybe Clemson. And then only because their head coach is willing to forgo large pay raises in favor of spreading them out amongst his staff.

But from where I sit, anyone directly involved in giving up 68 to GaTech and making a Maryland linebacker look like freakin Johnny Football is better off somewhere else anyway.
If I was responsible for preparing the defense or a group of players on the defense, I would have either resigned in shame or asked to be fired. So in my probably overly narrow view, everyone associated with the defense has something to prove next season. Our offense played well enough to win 10 or 11 games last year... our defense lost 3 and tried to lose another 2 or 3.
