North seems like a smart kid who wont get too 'fooled' by false praises by coaches pretending to be your 'best buddy; all of a sudden. Look at schools academic reputation and how that degree will help out rest of your life after football. You will get to the NFL whether you play at Tenn. or UNC. NFL sees you play no matter where you are. Tenn signed 5 WRs already and UNCs FedEx spread offense may give North more film for NFL to see though. I think he is smart enough to listen to his Mom/Dad about what they think is best also.

Maybe he can call up E.J. Abrams-Ward and ask him how picking Tennessee over North Carolina worked out for him.

NFL sees you anywhere? UNC degree is admired nationwide and internationally . Tenn. degree is admired in only Tenn. Now if he was talking SEC in terms of Vanderbilt then I could understand. I just hope his Dad isnt enamored by the big stadium and SEC atmosphere and forgetting his son will play in NFL no matter what and if disaster happens his UNC degree will carry him farther in world than Tenn. degree. And the UNC athletic alumni family (BBall, FBall, Olympic Sports) is bigger, more powerful and will be able to support him if needed more than the very small group Tenn. has.
Imagine being part of that UNC Family and coming back summers and playing BBall with NBA greats and NFL alumni?

I hoped we could sign him mostly because he is from inside our borders, but I've seen nothing that says this guy is Chris Carter, Jerry Rice, or even Hakeem Nicks. If his dad is stupid enough to push him into the Tennessee abyss then, good-bye. Move to the next guy.

The vols have 5 wr commited already to this class. WOW!!! My only guess would be playing front of 90,000 vols fans on sat. And i think there stadium holds over 100,000!!

Well, he was quoted as saying he felt UNC had too many receivers. If the Vols have 5, then that is 2 more than UNC...so no way that argument sticks.
We'll see where he ends up, but some people are just saying Tennessee because it's in the SEC more than likely , and that's really no reason to pick Tennessee over UNC.

After reading the #Vols war room on @Govols247 I feel good about MarQuez North to the #TarHeels -just reading the tea leaves.
Just throwing that out there for those who are throwing Tennessee out there like it's a formality. There is going to be ALLOT of information, often misleading, up to NSD. Ultimately, no one really knows but Marquez.

Haha yeah this is very true. I noticed that he has started following the univ. of Tennessee football's official twitter in the last few days while he doesn't follow UNC's. Who knows if that means anything but like you said just need to stop reading into stuff like that. Febuary 6th will be here soon enough and it won't matter.

Yeah, I don't get anything Tenn has to offer over UNC besides conference rep and fan base. The coaching/player turmoil there is insane. I would run away fast. I would have understood Clemson, UGA, etc., but Tenn? Makes no sense
