Ryan - O'Brien
Anyone ever notice how much Matt Ryan and Tom O'Brien look like each other? Especially when Ryan is walking off the field demoralized because he just fumbled or threw an interception?

Dont forget about Glennon, him and Ryan both look like they could be O'Brien's sons.

Re: Ryan - O'Brien
That could explain why TOBy ran off Wilson.

If the Niners get the trophy I think you'll see a tremendous shift in NFL QB thinking away from the Matty Ice type pocket passer.
The bias will be toward guys you have to account for in the run game rather than away. Yeah, if you can find Flacco with a cannon and a the old school NFL QB look, you'll roll that. But if the guy can run SOME pistol, so much the better.

I don't think there will be a 'tremendous shift'.
Last year's Super Bowl had 2 pocket passers in Eli & Brady. Peyton Manning had a great year leading his team to a 13-3 season. Tom Brady's team had a 13-3 season. Matt Ryan's team had a 13-3 season.
3 of the 4 Title Game participants had pocket passers.
You don't need a pistol QB to win in the NFL. And, having a QB run unprotected outside the pocket can result in injuries (see: RGIII). With today's rules, you can't breathe on a QB in the pocket...while they are fair game out in the open.
Obviously, Kaep, RGIII, Russell Wilson, etc. are all exciting & add another dimension to the QB position. However, I still believe a majority of NFL QB's will continue to be pocket passers with the changing rules & the violent nature of the sport.

I was just curious to see what kind of recruit Kaepernick was. Obviously a good athelete with more offers to play baseball since Nevada was the only school to offer FB scholly. Just goes to show you 2* can go a long way.... northcarolina.scout.com/a.z?s=...amp;nid=1869043
