Cooper to the Cowboys (Possibly)
The Cowboys have taken a few good players from UNC. I mean they got Greg Ellis, Jesse Holley, etc. They even got a coach from UNC, Brian Baker. Now they want to anchor their line with Cooper. Let's go UNC..... insider.espn.go.com/blog/insider/rumors/There are myriad questions about how the Dallas Cowboys will handle their offseason, beginning with changes on the coaching staff and ending with player personnel decisions. With the Senior Bowl coming up, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News examined five positions which he expects the Cowboys to watch closely during Senior Bowl practices in preparation for the draft. No. 1 is their offensive line. "The Cowboys completely reworked their offensive line last off-season in hopes of giving Tony Romo more time in the pocket and strengthening the running game. The line struggled throughout the season, and the Cowboys finished next to last in the NFL in rushing offense," he wrote. "Dallas needs to upgrade the line again. The Cowboys could part ways with RT Doug Free, but if they decide to cut Free they would probably need to select a tackle high in the draft." Addressing that offensive line is exactly what ESPN NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. expects the Cowboys to do in the first round of the draft. He gave the Cowboys North Carolina guard Jonathan Cooper in his first mock draft this week: Mel Kiper Jr. Mock Draft 1.0 "The Cowboys had an uneven season on the offensive line, and Cooper will provide an upgrade immediately. This is a complete guard, a player who is exceptional at delivering blocks and moving in tight quarters, and he moves extremely well for the position. He can deliver an initial blow to eliminate an interior defender and then move easily to the second level where he can line up linebackers and safeties and block in space."

Ditto. Two UNC players on that team already is two too many.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys (Possibly)
There's already three there. Holley, Sensabaugh, Bruuuuuuce.
I think Coop would be a good fit in Dallas. They do a lot of edge runs and downfield blocking with their O line, which Coop is good at helping to set up.

RE: Cooper to the Cowboys (Possibly)
He first would have to fall past the Panthers, who also need an OG.

+1 and Dallas would be fortunate to have him too because our offensive line sucks.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys (Possibly)
He'd be a great addition to the team...unfortunately at #18 i'd rather have a play making d-lineman.
as far as cooper, he's such a great kid and player...a scout graded him the best all-purpose guard in the draft and the most athletic.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys (Possibly)
You are missing the point here. We would like for all our players to go somewhere and become successful. Remember, Cooper came to us and we weren't that good but he made a difference. Let's hope where ever our guys land they are difference makers for the good and not the bad.

You mean the NFC East Champion Redskins? The team that swept the Cowboys on the big stage, Thanksgiving day and the final with the playoffs/division title on the line Redskins?
HTTR!

Sorry but Holley didn't make an NFL squad this year.
Oscar Sturgis is a Tarheel that was lucky enough to play for the Cowboys when they won the SB in '95.

Re: Cooper to the Cowboys (Possibly)
WOW! talk about getting some people riled up around here, my gosh just mention one team and it is like you set fire to there home or something. My goodness people, it is the NFL and these kids dont care who draft them, it is there dream to play in the NFL. If it was me would not care one bit as long as I made the team and set my family up for life and came away injury free.
