I thought for a second he was going to throw the mike down when he was and get a sledgehammer and start destroying it...

Thank you NC state for your persistence in getting a fantastic coach for us. Good weekend to be in Chapel Hill...Tar Heel victory in basketball, Fedora with great half time speech, ideal weather, important recruits on campus. Be nice to pick up some big commitments now!

Perhaps the best part of the Fedora speech was his acknowledgement that Carolina was the Coastal Division champ!

I can only hope that some of our "guest" posters from GT, etc., were listening.

Yes, we need a coach that wants to be here for the minimum of 10yrs regardless of what happens. This is his team now. We need a Dean Smith of football and excellent things will happen.

Mack Brown is the only one I can think of. Bob Stoops? And neither of those guys have complete buy in from their fanbases. Not too many coaches stay at a school for ten years in the era and there is a reason for that (fanbases are collectively batchit crazy.

Re: ICTV: Larry Fedora's Halftime Speech

Larry's brother, Lee, who coaches the Navasota Rattlers which is a small town about 15 minutes south of College Station, won the Texas state championship for their division.

With Texas being a small country & tons of rural football played, it was a pretty big deal for them. Especially considering he hasn't been there all that long.

There's some coaching in that bloodline.

Re: ICTV: Larry Fedora's Halftime Speech

Well we dodged one bullet with A&M hiring Sumlin as I think he's going to be pretty good. He's not leaving A&M unless he goes to the NFL (Houston Texans maybe?) I am a little concerned around what happens when Mack Brown leaves Texas. That may cause some dominos.

The football recruits at the basketball game had to love the halftime presentation of the entire football team, Coach's pep talk to the crowd, and crowd reaction and atmosphere in the Dean Dome. What a great recruiting event! The sky's the limit and everybody knows the sky is Carolina blue!

Re: ICTV: Larry Fedora's Halftime Speech

I often wonder what karma will eventually rain down on cow college. The moment when every lowlife involved in the seemingly, never-ending smear campaign, gets what's coming. It just dawned on me watching this video that my question may have already been answered and that answer just might be Larry Fedora. To this day I feel bad for Butch Davis. When those losers giggled and pee'd there pants with glee at his firing, they didn't realize the repercussions. The more of Fedora I see the more I like. I've got a feeling that after all is said and done I'll be liking him a whole lot more than I already do.

Re: ICTV: Larry Fedora's Halftime Speech

It's my experience that karma doesn't play fair, but I'm sure every wuffie on the planet got a sinking feeling in their stomachs when they realised theres a new sheriff in town. And doesn't care about their thoughts and feelings. I liked Butch, and I feel, to this day that he got a raw deal. But he didn't hate state enough, ya know? Larry hates state. Remember when he had that press conference with the boosters after he first got hired? Someone asked him about state, and he replied that he wasn't going to talk about them because he didn't want to "legitamize their program". And I have been a Larry Fedora fan every since.

Re: ICTV: Larry Fedora's Halftime Speech

Fed gets it, he really does. He locks down NC and then cherry picks the region he's got all the talent he needs to compete for ACC titles and BCS bowls.

But this year and next will be telling. He's got to replace Gio and upfit the entire defense now and then replace a very effective, veteran QB after that. Neither is a small task.

However, he gets past that while maintaining the recruiting engine and staff quality -- I honestly don't think the guy can be stopped.

In-cred-ible. Lock this man up as coach of the grid-iron Heels for the next 20 years. At least.
