Big loss for the passing game.

I'm honestly thinking this game is going to come down to which defense makes the fewest mistakes, and with Sanders out of the picture it could give UNC's maligned unit a leg-up.

I certainly wish Sanders the best in the NFL, though; he is a dynamic talent.

Perhaps the NFL will grant an exception to Clowney and let him leave this year also. A man can dream.

I think that SC will win this game fairly easily at home.
hate to be negative but just my feeling.

Ironically, USC only signed Ace when we flipped Sean Tapley after a 16 month committment to South Carolina. Worked out well for them.

No offense, but I'll take the points.

RE: Wheww.... Thank You, Ace Sanders!!!!

My feeling is that Bryn Renner is a better QB than Tahj Boyd and he'll have the entire spring to map out the offensive game plan to prep for USC. Clemson had no such advantage.

I know defenses can scheme against an offense during that time too, but this offensive unit should be pretty impressive next year. The UNC O Line cubbard is still VERY well stocked. Watching Hurst take on Clowney will be hyped a bit....a bit...a bit.

Don't get me wrong, I really think Bryn is a good qb. I'm not sure he is better than Boyd though. Boyd is a really good runner and even though he is at times inconsistent...when on he is great. He is just a little more dynamic as a threat to run than Bryn.

Losing Sanders though is big for the passing game and huge for them in the return game. That guy is pretty amazing in the open field

Better passer but that's where it ends. The Heels wide open offense last year made Renner look like the second coming of Scot Stancavage(sp?)but my mother in law has better mobility than Bryn.

She fell in the garage the other day trying to beat the door going down and got right up unscaved. Did wonder how she would've looked trapped under the door though?

It may be a guy from the Tar Heel state returning punts. Pharoah, hope he's as good as advertised. He looked great in the Shrine Bowl.

Unfortunately there are 3 Four star recievers waiting to step into the passing game. Won't hurt the passing game

RE: Wheww.... Thank You, Ace Sanders!!!!

His first season (sophomore)as starter he set records and led the ACC in tons of statistical categories in the pro set. Remind me how many of his weapons went pro? Oh yeah, just the running back.

His second season, in a completely different offensive system, how many records did he set again? And how many of his weapons went pro? Oh yeah, Gio still.

It must be that defenses have been so terrified of Gio for two seasons that Renner has even been allowed to throw it.

It's quite simple...

Fix our D, we have a shot at winning. Don't fix our D, and UNC likely loses with or without Sanders.

I would usually defer to you on recruiting matters, but Spurrier Jr. quit talking to Sean Tapley because he kept visiting other schools, and so they they went after Ace Sanders.

Yes, one of them is Scout 5 Star, Shaq Roland, who was South Carolina's Mr Football, and the Offensive MVP in the Shrine Bowl in 2011. Dameire Byrd, at one point in his young career, had the world's second fastest time in the 60m.

If the Heels don't come up with a way to even partially control Clowney nothing else they do will matter unfortunately. Even as a died in the wool Tar Heel I'm less than excited about UNC's chances in
Columbia next fall. Just don't see the talent in Chapel Hill needed to stop the chickens in their roost at this point--hopefully the Heels will make me eat these thoughts!!! Can't stand Spurrier but must admit he has built a powerhouse like we all would love to see in Chapel Hill at this point!!

Negative. Call me optimistic, but I believe we have an excellent chance to de feather the birds. James Hurst will probably be best left guard that Clowney will face next year.
