Highsmith
Had a poor showing today at the East West practices today. Read an article on another board. Couldn't post cause I'm on my phone. Said he looked slow and failed to gain separation from the defenders

You quite possibly are the single most negative person posting on this board and that's saying something. Must be a nasty life waking up to someone pissing in your cornflakes each and everyday.

Re: Highsmith
Negative or truthful?
He doesn't have the separation speed when running rountes, nor the break-a-way speed when in the open field. Does this mean he won't make a NFL team, of course not. That's just the knock on Highsmith.

So the facts are negative... you must be the most &$:(@/. If you think he is fast...now is that a must..no..as some smarty pointed out Nicks is not the fastest guy either....but you were upset that a scout said he was slow...i agreed, he is slow. Dealing with truth is not such a bad way to live..not sure what you do.. --------------------------------------------- --- jsf5259 wrote:

More of a reference to your posts in general than this specific one. If you want to get butt hurt and start name calling than by all means continue.

I have never, ever seen Hakeem run away from a DB. I've seen him muscle one to the ground and then leave him, but never just out run them to the end zone. --------------------------------------------- --- HeelinBoone wrote:

You must have missed the B.C. game in '08 in the rain at BKS, he ran away from the secondary twice out of his 3 TDs!!!!!!

Re: Highsmith
So you are saying that this ONE time HN ran away from college dbs.
He is a man among boys, even in the NFL but a desean jackson he is not. But neither was Jerry Rice. I would take Hakeem over Jackson any day. --------------------------------------------- --- spacemt1 wrote:

Re: Highsmith
mookie had 1 catch for 7 yards....he will never be a starting wr....his best chance is to make it as a number 4 or 5 receiver and make a career as a special teams player scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=330193147

Re: Highsmith
No, I NEVER SAID this one time, those are your words. This is just one game that I attended that he outran the DBs!!!! Hakeem's speed is just fine for the League, Highsmith's I doubt. E.T.A. also,it's not really a secret that Hakeem is a possession receiver!!!!

Re: Highsmith
I was at that game, Section 103. I don't specifically remember those plays. You may be right. However, Hakeem is not a run away from you to get separation guy, he's a muscle his way around/over you to get the ball guy. Mookie will need to develop the same skill if he wants to play in the league.

Re: Highsmith
Unfortunately, I have not seen Mookie being the muscler, but a few times the musclee. I'm afraid there will be several receivers ahead of him in the draft, and best of luck to him. He was one of our top receivers the last few years.

RE: Highsmith
Not here to criticize, but rather thank Highsmith for his time at UNC. He was here during some tough times and stuck it out, all the while being a solid contributer to this football team, especially this past season. Good luck to Mookie in his pursuit of making a dream come true in the NFL.
