Shouldn't Tech fans worry about more important things in their own university like actually getting some females on campus than going to IC and posting on who is the the right division champion when they shouldn't be here in the first place?

I wish we had put the billboard up earlier. Had we done that, the agdogs would have surpassed the 100,000 comment mark by Jan 1st and I would have won 500 bucks.

Re: New Carolina Football Billboards in Charlotte
If I were inclined to be reasonable, then I might say you have an arguable point. However, our school and program have been dealt with in an extremely unreasonable manner by the NCAA and the press over the last few years. Moreover, the ABC'ers we have to deal with (and who have played a big role in starting and maintaining the witch hunt we've endured) are the antithesis of reasonable. Now throw in the fact that the ACC changed its policy on this MID-SEASON specifically to target us (as noted above, the program over in Raleigh has never won anything without cheating including the 1973 ACC Championship which they got credit for).
I don't feel the need to be reasonable in any of this. Our team won it on the field, they deserve the credit (none of the players or coaches had anything to do with the troubles of the past) and (most importantly) this drives the ABC'ers absolutely crazy. Brilliant move, I hope to see many more billboards go up!

I don't think we're trying to rub anyones nose in anything. This is simply a symbolic reward to the kids that busted their humps under very difficult conditions and had a decent year. This is about acknowledging and thanking the players and their families for their hard work and their willingness to "stick it out" under a new coach, a new system and a new attitude.
Those that are getting their drawers in a bunch should simply step back and see it for what it really is as opposed to trying to create something sinister to fuel their need for attention.

"The fact of the matter is, none of our violations gave us an advantage. We never paid anyone to play here. If John Blake really was a runner for Gary Wichard, then he was the most ineffective runner of all time. We were penalized because of impermissable benefits designed to steer players to an agent. No ineligible players were used this season. We were raked over the coals some times fairly, sometimes not. Ask Devon Ramsey. Ask him if UNC won the division. Nobody in the history of college football has gotten screwed as hard as that young man. What I'm trying to say is, nothing we did gave us an illegal competitive advantage. We played the games on the field, we won the games on the field. This team won 8 games, when they absolutely nothing to play for besides pride. Kevin Reddick could have transferred to almost any school in America, and started from day one. This team won the division. Along with Miami and Georgia Tech. Technically, we won the tiebreaker, but we were ineligible. So it goes. But due to the perseverance of our players and coaching staff, this goes down as my favorite Tar Heel football ever yet."

That's fine but I don't think that was coach Fedora's or Carolina's goal. The kids deserved some recognition and a thank you. I think that's what it was intended to do.

I know, right?
And State fans have the audacity to call us arrogant. They feel that they can rightfully claim NC as their own despite having athletics AND academics that are clearly inferior to those of the flagship university of the state.

I'm just surprised he managed to spell "and" correctly. I'm actually a big fan of his work. He's one of the most entertaining posters over there... kind of like an illiterate randman/aggie clone. Granted, that doesn't really set him apart from the crowd much, but he is exceedingly consistent. Kind of a Cal Ripken type.

Re: New Carolina Football Billboards in Charlotte
The agdogs "our state" campaign was simply stupid IMO. To attempt to place a very average school academically with a very average reputation nationally and with a below average athletic department in some type of limelight in a state that includes Dook, Carolina, Wake, Davidson, etc did little to make them look any better.

RE: New Carolina Football Billboards in Charlotte
I'm not a supporter of continued conference realignment at all. But if it does happen, I take great pleasure imagining a world where NCeST gets left out in the cold, and we don't have to talk about them anymore than we talk about App State or Davidson. See how many "our state" signs they post when they're relegated to the Atlantic ten. And as far as the classy and clever quote; "chapel hill is burning, and I'm roasting marshmellows", that's their favorite catch phrase, one they all repeat as often as they van. Now we give these Georgia Tech fans a hard time. And they probably deserve it. But they don't belong in the same urine soaked ballpark as the agdogs. I don't care how literate for a wuffie prof. Smith is.

What a fabulous billboard. " ACC Coastal Division Champions" It iis a statement which will reverberate in recruitment and signing day and the spring game and next season. For the sour grapes , sorry, but you will have many more sour grapes days to come.
