oversigning

oversigning

Read the link below.
yeah yeah I know it goes on everywhere. They say this goes on at all schools, especially SEC ones. There's competition for your schollie, for your position, and for playing time. If I were Kylie Fitts, I'd play the system especially when you have Kiffins, Old ball sacks and Orgerons out there. I'd tell Kiffin that i still plan to attend USC in June. At the same time I've entered into secret negotiations with the Ducks, Bruins, or Cards for their last scholarship. I'd wait til the end of signing day to burn them. I would have to say that I cannot fault a kid who changes his commit at last minute. Scholarships are awarded on one year basis. Coaches leave after a good season. Coaches leverage a good season with some NFL interviews and a pay raise. Transfers have to sit a year. Saban? I'll be back as the Dolphins coach next season. Then wheels up after the last press conference, headed to bama. College players should get paid, college players should be able to transfer without sitting out but put a spending cap/salary cap on the programs, Coaches salaries, so they don't raise my tix price.

Re: oversigning

Kiffin has to be the biggest fraud in all of college sports. I do not get how he gets all these great players. He certainly is not the role model I would choose for my kids and don;t understand why other parents do.

Saban has no integrity but college and pro FB has less.

What's your basis for saying that Saban has no integrity? Seems to run a rather clean program. I'm missing something???? True that he works for a football academy. But, that existed long before Saban.

Re: oversigning

He offers one year try outs, not scholarships. He pulls offers at the last minute (even after the kid announces on national TV for Bama) when someone higher rated falls into his lap. Tells kids to grey shirt then doesn't honor their scholarship after they've waited an extra semester.

What else? He's got a few NCAA rules written specifically for him. Thats Neuheisel territory there.

Hater. That's the sort of program he's running. The kids know it. If you commit there, they know that's what they're getting into. Look, I'm no Bama fan, but you have to admire they've won 3 out of 4 MNC. That's the day and age we live in.

Re: oversigning

NO kids don't expect to have their scholarships taken from them on NSD, after 2 years of recruiting. They don't expect for him pull their greyshirt. He preaches integrity and all that BS like other coaches and then doesn't live by it.

Childish Name-caller, That does not equate to integrity. Just because the college football bar of acceptable behavior has been lowered does not mean the definition of integrity has changed.

You, good sir, just hit the nail on the head, and also exposed a major problem we have in society in general. Just because something is acceptable in society does not make it right.

Re: oversigning

According to Steve Logan, Saban could not hack it in the NFL because its more of an even playing field. The NFL Europe separated the good coaches from the bad ones because the talent was more evenly distributed. Saban said why am i coaching in the NFL when I could go to Bama where I have a built-in advantage over most every college team. Sure, Saban has to sell and close some of this top talent base but he does not have to spend as much time on the X's and O's.

If I'm a high school recruit with realistic shot at the NFL, I'm thinking about me, myself and I. Where can I play immediately. who's preparing me the best? I'm going to use you and your program to advance my needs. NCAA and NCAA coaches and AD's, where's my payday? Scam Newton? he played the system and he and his flock got paid! Good for him! I don't have any problem with it. just capitalism. no different than Kellys, Chip and Brian, seeking pay raises by interviewing for some NFL jobs.
