2013 UNC will field possibly the fastest offensive team ever....
Qb- renner/williams
Hb- morris ( 2 time 100 and 200 meter state champ)
A back- logan/ ( K. Davis 100 meter state champ)
Te- ebron( the freak)
Slot wr- thorpe/ k. Davis
Wr- Q.davis
Wr- M. North (should he commit)
Wow!! Cant wait for aug 29. Bring on the *****!!

I really see us going 9-3. And going to the ACC Champ... we shall see.
Losses to SOuth Carolina and god knows who the other two will be.. Prolly to someone we shouldnt lose to and beat someone we shouldnt.
If we get lucky and beat South Carolina then I will go on record as saying that all bets are off and it will be a special season indeed.

I can't make up my mind if having SC right out of the gate is a good thing or not. I suppose not having a game experience yet will be just as much a disadvantage for them as it is for us, but it would sure be nice to have a cream puff before the steak so to speak.

2013 will rest on how good the defense will be, IMHO. also as long as Renner is taking the snaps, I doubt we will see the real speed this offense can or will run at.
if we see 2012 defense or less, then it will be a 6/7 win season. if better, i think this team has a chance at a 9 win season. we avoid both F$U & Clampson. However, we conceivably could lose every single road game next season. i'm gonna say 6 or 7 wins but will wait to see how the defense is looking coming out of spring practice.
@ S. Carolina [top 10 team, wish the game was in Charlotte]
@ VT [will definitely be looking for revenge & redemption]
@ NCSU [best chance for road victory]
@ Pitt [inuagural season in ACC]
@ GT [always lose in Atl]
glad the offense will have a 1 yr under its belt w/Fedora's system, however, i felt in 2012 we didn't come close to the speed this offense needs at QB & wide receiver. they just looked slow at times.
now Texas A&M, that's the speed and diversity we should see w/the UNC offense. we don't have a Johnnie Football but hopefully the tempo will pick up. TAMU & Oregon are 2 offenses we hopefully will look like in the coming yrs.

Yes. We stay clear of that Clowney fellow we should be alright. However, as long as he's on the field, their defense will be tough. That said, I like our chances.

Their replacements will be much better than anyone on our defense. I'm not sure we can score enough to keep up with them.

We (SC) have to have a back to step up for us to be good offensively early. There's some talent but nobody tested. Receivers are good, QBs solid. O-lins should be better, but I hate that potential word when it comes to football. Our O-line is huge, but average footwork. I hope UNCs D-line is very average or we could be in trouble.

Man, I don't know. Vic Koennigs defenses historically show pretty drastic improvement between years one and two, so we have that going for us. But we sucked so hard last year, we could improve 100% and still not be able to stop a local high school team. However, prime time game against what should be a top 15 opponent? I cannot wait.

Vic's D's (even in year 1) have never been ranked worse than 40th. Given what we saw lat season, I suspect this wasn't Vic's D. I'm sure he had input, but DD was the DC and I suspect it was more his D than Vic's. Fedora brought DD with him and Vic was added at the last minute, so this theory makes sense.
If true, and if Fedora is smart enough to realize his mistake and it becomes Vic's D, I expect major improvements.
If the D does it job, I can see 10+ wins. Other than maybe SC, there will not be a team on our schedule where we are "major" underdogs. In fact, I would dare say we would be favored in all but 2-3 games.

Any Word on the date of the SC vs UNC game yet i know talking to a few C@cks (that still makes me laugh) They say its moved to sat the 31st as all our websites and such still say 29th. Guess well see next month either way ill be there!

I predict that Mr Hurst makes himself tons of money first game by having the best game of any lineman vs Clowney the whole 2013 football season. I am confident enough of our chances in this game that we are considering going to Columbia and Santee/Cooper next August.

SOS has been pleased with our s and c coach, we have lost very few late in games in resent years. We seem to be as physical as anyone we play. I've visited the weight room. There is as much emphasis on agility as strength. And much more working on hand speed than back in my coaching days.

Even with that, there is a big talent gap between the two teams. Being this is a home game for you, I don't expect much of a competitive game.
That being said, I like our direction and hope we get you again in the next couple of years.

Given our extremely weak home schedule & our returning players on offense, I think that is an extremely pessimistic outlook.
I think we could get 6 or 7 wins AT HOME. We have dook, UVA, BC, and Miami at home...along with 3 relative OOC cupcakes.
I also believe we beat NC State again with the Wolpfack's coaching/QB transition.
I would say the schedule looks more like an '8 or 9' win season. SC, Pitt, VT, GT will not be easy for sure...but those games are 'winable' even if SC would be a pretty good upset.

You and me both, bro. They kinda hated me when I was in grad school there at State in 2005 and I wore Carolina Blue paraphernalia from head to toe the day after we won the natty again. Of course, I was in grad school at dook in '93, and that was even sweeter because dook was remotely relevant.

Thanks for the info. From what I understand Lou trains our guys at an up tempo, little or no rest between sets. He does this to mimic the way we play.
