Re: NCAA and Miami
I wonder if the Miami media will be clamoring for more investigations and further punishment after the NCAA hands out their sanctions?

Re: NCAA and Miami
^Probably not. One of the major benefits of having NO major rival within 400 miles. It wouldn't be true to say that no one cares about Miami football, but unlike our rivals, there is enough other stuff to talk about in their communities that there isn't this obsession with all things Miami that exist with State fans in particular.

Re: NCAA and Miami
You guys would be surprised. The local media in MIami haven't been known to defend UM, historically speaking. Strikes me as similar to the the media situation in Dallas that surrounded SMU back in the 80s...every hack reporter knows that he can make a name for himself by digging dirt on UM. Reporters throughout south Florida have done their best to pile on during the last 2 years.

Re: NCAA and Miami
I hope it is over for them soon and get basically what they have already punished themselves with. We need Miami back to being top notch.

Re: NCAA and Miami
Just out of curiosity. What town do you believe FSU is located in?
My best guess is Tampa or Daytona Beach according to your 260 miles...

Come on Tyrone, really. You don't think I checked before I posted that? Would that really have changed the point I was making anyhow?

Re: NCAA and Miami
About 488 from campus to campus via road, but would appear to be a fair amount shorter as the unladen swallow flies.

Re: NCAA and Miami
Whether it's 280 or 480, the point is that UNC has over a dozen BCS rivals within 300 miles and two big ones within 30 miles of its campus border We work together with dook and State fans/grads, we go to church together, to out kids ball games and dance recitals, we live next to State fans, and we have to act like we love one another at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Maybe Miami and FSU fans do too, but my guess is that it's a completely different dynamic than what Miami and Florida or FSU have. I am assuming that Tyrone was talking about Florida instead of FSU, but it's the same thing...
