No need in wasting Clemson's time at all. He's going to be a Heel.

Really hoping North becomes a Tar Heel. He would be an instant contributor in this offense.

Man, it really looks like North is going to be a Heel, and I sure hope he is. This would be a great pick up for this offense, and would really make this a solid recruiting class by Fedora

He's been injured with a torn labrum for a few months now. He didn't play in any all-star games, though he did attend the Army All-American game this year.

If I were recruited Id probably take all the officials I was offered, just to really check out places.

Actually, I was recruited, but only by one school, and the enticement was Big Macs during film review. I walked on elsewhere.

Re: MARQUEZ NORTH CANCELS OFFICIAL TO CLEMSON

Honestly I think he's been a UNC strong lean ever since Dooley looked like he'd be fired at Tenn. His teammate is committed here, he has friends from hs at UNC, and even family members attending UNC. He knows he can get early playing time here as he would at Tenn, but our QB is returning. Butch Jones wants him bad but Fedora and Brewer know they're in the homestretch with the lead.

Re: MARQUEZ NORTH CANCELS OFFICIAL TO CLEMSON

UPDATE: ESPN 150 wide receiver Marquez North (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) is down a pair of programs from which he will eventually choose.

"...North has scratched Clemson from his list," Phil Kornblut of GoUpState.com reported. "His father contacted Clemson recruiter Danny Pearman Thursday and told him of the decision."

North is looking for a program where he can make an immediate impact. Tennessee may be the top option after the Volunteers lost both of its top targets to April's NFL Draft.

Looking at Tennessee's commitment list there are 5 wr's. He could see playing time just as early here.

Re: MARQUEZ NORTH CANCELS OFFICIAL TO CLEMSON

Well this will answer your question.

With the loss of ESPN 150 wide receiver Demarcus Robinson (Fort Valley, Ga./Peach County) and ESPN 300 wide receiver Ryan Jenkins (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter), Clemson was hoping to make a big push for another ESPN 150 wideout this weekend on an official visit.

But unfortunately for the Tigers, Marquez North (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) is traveling to check out another school.

According to Ramondo North, Marquez’s father, the family is instead driving to Tennessee on Saturday for an unofficial visit, followed by an official to North Carolina on Jan. 18 and a possible official to Oregon on Jan. 25. While Clemson could still get the talented receiver on campus before he makes his decision, Ramondo North said Clemson certainly has some ground to make
Marquez North canceled a scheduled visit to Clemson.
“North Carolina is in the driver’s seat, but Tennessee lost two receivers to the NFL draft so he could get some playing time,” North said. “Plus he would be playing against the best in the SEC as a freshman.”

As the family traveled to Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, North’s father detailed why the Volunteers are getting a chance to overtake the Tar Heels at the top.

“When he went to the game last fall it was electric and I loved that, but it was the law program at Tennessee opened his eyes big time,” North said. “He wants to be a lawyer, so seeing the dean and everything was important for him. Now we want to meet the new coaches and see if he can trust them. Lots of coaches tell him a lot of stuff, so we want to see if it all matches up.”

North Carolina is the front-runner for the No. 133 prospect in the country, and for multiple reasons.

“I do not want to speak for Marquez, but really UNC is in the driver’s seat because it's in-state, he knows he would be set for life with a degree from there, and he knows his grandparents and family can come see him play,” North said. “He has a great relationship with the coaches and everything that could be positive for UNC, they have.”

Marquez North has remained uncommitted throughout the recruiting cycle, and his father said his patience is justified.

“His decision is going to affect the rest of his life, so he wants to take the time to make sure it’s the right choice,” Ramondo North said.

Dude, oregon doesn't have a shot. How does considering a visit there equate to that? You have some weird opinions when it comes to recruiting. As we've said it is a UNC vs Tenn battle, period!

Ok, Oregon does not have a shot. I've read more absurd things than me suggesting another school has a shot because the kids parent mentioned possibly visiting another school. The impossible can become the possible but who am I right?

Oregon has Knight money and has poached more than one kid from the East Coast under mysterious circumstances.

Boone - Unless your last name is North, how could you reasonably conclude that Oregon doesnt have a shot? It says he is considering an official.
