Dominique Green commit?

Dominique Green commit?

I'm from Scotland County and heard this morning Green committed to UNC. He was at Hargrave for a year and is rated 3*. Anyone have any confirmation of this news? Be nice to see another Fighting Scot in light blue instead of red or burgundy.

Re: Dominique Green commit?

Yes, Green has committed and quite possibly is enrolled like our early enrollees from high school according our Commit List on North Carolina / 247 Sports: northcarolina.247sports.com/Se...ootball/Commits

We're now up to six (6) early enrollees and 15 commits for a total of 21! It sure makes Signing Day more relaxing when ~29% of your class has already enrolled!

Especially when state can't get 3* players to raw-lee with scholarships. :P

RE: Dominique Green commit?

This is a great pick-up. I was Laurinburg's sports editor for Dominique's junior and senior seasons and dude is just a play maker. Great coverage skills, athleticism and hands. A good kid too. Played a major role in Scotland's state title run in 2011 and had two INT's in the title game, I believe (I remember at least one). Hope he gets a real shot at playing and maybe it will help with our sophomore quarterback who visited UNC during the season this fall.

Congrats D and it will be great watching you on the field again, although from the stands instead of the sidelines this time!

I thought I'd also read that he was a January enrollee but he's not mentioned in the UNC press release with the others. UNC Announces Four Enrollees

Anybody know definitively?

Justin's brother Jordan isn't mentioned in that release either, but through Trubisky's Twitter it appeared that he had also enrolled as a PWO. I imagine that since Green is presumably a PWO, he would not be included in that release either.

Actually both are mentioned in the release. Single line between first paragraph and Jordan's bio.

Release
"Also joining the program are Harris Hite, a transfer from Campbell University, and Justin Fieulleteau, Jordan's brother."

Re: Dominique Green commit?

Kid is rated 3* by Scout and 2* by other rating services, but either way an incredible walk on. Coupled with the OL kid and you have two guys who are really major D1 prospects who are a part of our class. Outstanding work by the staff. If you want a true measure of our class after signing day, add about 100 points to our Scout total and see where we fall as the walk-on kids do not count in their calculations.

Re: Dominique Green commit?

with some transferring out and not getting our allotment, then some of these PWO could get a scholarship.

Smart kids, I've never understood why someone would take a scholarship to state unless they absolutely had to go there anyways, in which case I guess free crap is better than crap you have to pay for.
