Nice. And the kid seems genuinely pumped to be a Tar Heel too. I have high hopes for this youngster.

Yes, this kid is on fire for UNC. What's up with them shunning Mr. North on this list?

Pretty sure he missed a good portion of the season due to injury. Otherwise, who knows? I understand his measurables are similar to Jordan fulahdjdhdbs, or whatever his name is.

Wow, I knew Fieulleteau was good, but, never imagined First-Team Offense All-American....."grabbed 111 catches for 1,600 yards and 24 scores."
Also, congrats to T.J. Logan for his accomplishment of Second-Team Offense All-American.
However, I am a bit puzzled that Robert Nkemdiche, the #1 Recruit in the Nation would be relegated to "Second-Team" Defense....strange?????

Re: Fieulleteau Named MaxPreps 1st Team All-American
A lot of this list is judged by individual stats, hence why Jordan made the team.
And man that Derrick Henry kid was a man amongst boys, 6-3 and 240 lbs before stepping into a college weight room? Alabama is becoming the new running back U, ridiculous he gets to team up with yeldon next year.

Fieulleteau may be the most overlooked prospect we have coming in by the fans myself included.

He put up great stats but I'm not expecting him to come in and get a lot of playing time right away. That is not necessarily a bad thing either, just means we have more depth at WR this coming year and Fieulleteau needs some time with Lou developing his athleticism. He will be a good possession receiver but I am concerned about his ability to get separation on the college level. His speed is a big ? mark...

Re: Fieulleteau Named MaxPreps 1st Team All-American
Yeah his speed is one of the big reasons I have not been overly excited about him. I think sometimes I get to caught up on a guys 40 time then whether or not he is a good player. I agree though I think a red-shirt year would really help him out in the long run.

Re: Fieulleteau Named MaxPreps 1st Team All-American
I remember a few years back, being jacked up over 2 incoming WR, J Boyd and J Adams, didnt give much thought about the 'other guy' coming in, E Highsmith. I learned my lesson. Glad to see this kid get some well deserved recognition.

Re: Fieulleteau Named MaxPreps 1st Team All-American
Well all I know is that at a combine 2 or so years ago he ran somewhere around a 5.03 40. Obviously he's faster than that but I don't think he'll be a 4.5 type guy. Still can be a great possession receiver though, he should just model himself after Quinshad.

+1 Same here buddy both of those guys where highly recruited and we beat out some major schools for them. Than I remeber reading a article about us giving some skinny two star rated kid a scholarship I didnt think to much of it. Just that maybe a few years down the road he could be a decent 3 or 4th receiver option.

RE: Fieulleteau Named MaxPreps 1st Team All-American
I think the freshman receivers will have a chance to play. Quinshad and Tapley are the only two with much game experience returning this year, so I'd say the WR slots are open for competition. Playing 3 to 4 receivers every snap means we need 6 to 8 guys at that position that can play. I don't think we have that right now. Someone has to replace Highsmith at the X, Quinshad will start at Z, but someone has to back him up, Tapley and Wilkins as well as either Logan or Switzer are pencilled in at A back or slot receiver, so that A back position seems like the only place that we have enough talented depth right now. Let me add tight end too that quality depth category with Tabb, Knox, and E-beast as well. I am nervous about the outside though, we need players there!

TJ Thorpe will be a big time player, lets not forget about him he has as much talent as any WR on our roster.

Re: Fieulleteau Named MaxPreps 1st Team All-American
I wonder if he will add more stars to his resume. How can he only be a 3 star with his gaudy stats and a first team Max preps AA. It seems all receivers ratings are based on 40 times. I dont remember Hakeem Nicks being a fast receiver and we know how he turned out.

Hakeem was a legit 4.49(at combine) guy, that is pretty good.

Re: Fieulleteau Named MaxPreps 1st Team All-American
Yes, Hakeem had speed. I don't understand why people keep harping on Jordan's old 40 time. I heard he had a hamstring problem when he ran it. Plus, he's a kid with high aspirations like many D-1 players, do you people not think he's not been working on his speed. There's no way he could've put up those numbers running. 5.0 40.
