Why would they make these changes? Those rules were there to protect the recruits from being hounded and distracted. The only rule that needed to be looked at was the one that they need to add. The early signing period.

Seems to me as though the "hot" kids would necessarily end up being thoroughly bombarded by coaches calling, visiting and texting. It's hard enough to be an athlete and a student, but for the recruiting circus to be amped-up like this (and allowed to begin in earnest a year earlier than it does now) would cause unnecessary additional distractions.
