Houston is the most intriguing FBS team I could find with an available game.

Yeah, or maybe Rice. Anything to play up Fed's Texas connections.

Since Houston is in an AQ league next year that one makes a little more sense than Rice. But, we're getting limited in our options and need to get something on the schedule.

Does the PAC play eight or nine conference games? I ask cuz they only have three OOC's scheduled.

If we play Oregon, we better make sure the scorebaord can handle triple digits , if GT can put up what they did , Oregon would suprass that.

If they try to suprass anything, I would hope for some harsh NCAA penalties.

Middle Tennessee State in BKS, no return trip...that was the last rumor I heard. Finalizes the most underwhelming home slate in recent memory.

Miami
Virginia
BC or Syracuse
dook
ECU
Old Dominion
Middle Tennessee

Handle your business at home, take 3 of 5 on the road, you're a 10 win team. It's the SEC/B1G way.

RE: still no 12th game?

? I would argue that is the Pac 12, Big 12, Big East, and ACC "way" also. All BCS schools try to schedule 7 games at home, right, and most are successful in doing so? Are there really that many 10 win schools from the B1G? The SEC's footprint overlaps with the Sun Belt so the 1-A schools from that conference are very attractive opponents for a single game and nice pay day. To that end, the SEC does get to play a 1-AA (like everyone else does) and a Sun Belt school (which is probably the weakest 1-A conference with the possible exception to the MAC). Really the only thing that separates the schools from BCS conferences that schedule tough (from an out of conference perspective) from those who schedule weak is what they do with the remaining two games. Some folks have yearly opponents who they must play, and for those schools (Florida, FSU, GT, Georgia, Clemson, SCar, Kentucky, Louisville, etc.), there really is only one game which they can manipulate to either make their schedule tough or easy. But no one really schedules TOUGH.

Yawn! That's awful.

We could go 7-0 right there. Another 8-4 season might be a tremendous disappointment...lol.

RE: still no 12th game?

8-4 with road games of Pitt, iNCeST, VT, GT and lil Carolina might be what happens. Pitt will be better in year two under Cryst, iNCeST is a dumpster fire, VT and GT are tough spots and lil Carolina will be top 7 when we see them.

RE: still no 12th game?

It could be what happens...and if it does, I would call it at least a minor disappointment...maybe not a tremendous disappointment.

I think we should win all 7 of those home games.

4 of those 5 road games will be 'winable'. SC should beat us. We could win those other 4 individually. I'll be disappointed if we win just one of them. Pitt is coming off a 6-7 season. NC St. will have a new QB & new coach...along with a bunch of 2-star recruits left by TOBY. Va Tech is not what they used to be. Ga Tech was 7-7...it's about time we beat them.

I hope we can get to 9 wins for the first time in a long-time. With that schedule, we will have a chance.

Re: still no 12th game?

Will Tar Heel fans support the home schedule????Probably not and that will be one reason for Fedora to leave...also Jarran Reed will have to attend an extra semester of JC just to be able to enroll at UNC...while he is accepted to Ole Miss, Fla. and several others with Graduating from JC.....That is another reason for Fedora to not put up with not being on a level recruiting situation with so many other schools....This is Academic Snobery......and will kill UNC Football.....As a past player and graduate of two of UNC's professional schools, I disagree with this lack of support for football and the athletic program....by the university ....

The secret to a successful season is for the players to decisively win the games on the schedule, regardless of the quality or lack of quality of the opponents!

with the high cost of games and the great experience of watching on HDTV along with the ability to watch other games also, that would not be a surprise. would love to go to games but cannot afford the tickets

RE: still no 12th game?

If we have a team that could possibly win the ACC Championship why in the hell couldn't we sell out games even against lesser competition? Am I the only person that attends Carolina games to see the Heels play?

RE: still no 12th game?

You're not the only one, but you and I are in the minority, unfortunately. More than half the people I run into at games are there to socialize first, and, if a game breaks out, they might watch, for a little while.

Actually, I think there were more "football fan" type attendees at the lower attended games (Elon, Idaho) this past year than there were at the "big" games (GT, VT). iNCeST, in my opinion, was about 60/40 between those there for "the game" vs those there to be seen.

I am there every week, too. Get there early and stay 'til after the team goes in following Hark the Sound, win or lose.

Even with all the extremes this year -- rain (Idaho), cloudy (NCS) or sunny (ECU, VT, GT), hot as he** (Elon) or cold (Maryland), we were there for every one.
