Klempsun lost two recruits today?
Saw the crawl at the bottom of ESPN, looks like a couple of GA HS players decommitted from Klem today, one going to UTenn and one to FLA.

Look for them to go hard after North and maybe our WR commit Howard.

They go hard after nearly everyone UNC wants anyway. Don't think 2 decommits from there is going to make any difference at all.

Both the ones they lost are WR. espn.go.com/college-sports/foo...ecruiting/indexCan't read it if you're not an INsider, but the headline is in the upper right. --------------------------------------------- --- BalboaUNC wrote: Look for them to go hard after North and maybe our WR commit Howard. ---------------------------------------------

Re: Klempsun lost two recruits today?
It will make a big difference actually. Howard was a Clemson lean but was never offered and North was also high on Clemson but they already had so many WR they backed off. I'm not saying they will get either one especially not Howard but look for them to try their hardest to get them both.

Seems like they wouldn't want scraps from Clemson when they were actually wanted elsewhere. That's how I would feel.

Robinson was a flake. He already committed, de-committed, committed again, and then de-committed again. Who knows? Next week he may end up enrolling at Clemson.
The other receiver's dad played ball at UT. He was just waiting for an offer. Butch Jones promised to make him the centerpiece of his offense at UT.

Re: Klempsun lost two recruits today?
Hopefully, UNC will get an "official visit" from Marquez North prior to the Feb. 6th Signing Day! Without an official visit, despite the numerous UNOFFICIAL visits to Chapel Hill, I just do not see us as having a high-degree of probability of getting North to sign a UNC "letter of intent" of Feb. 6th.

He has set up his official visit and I think it is in January. Does anyone know the exact date of the official?

Well, I was thinking of checks from UT and UF.
I didn't think about the checks from CU.

Re: Klempsun lost two recruits today?
That would be the best date for it since we are having a lot of official visitors that day. Maybe some of our current commits can get in his ear and help sell UNC.

UNC probably has the lead for North because of how close it is, but I think both Clemson and UT are making up ground here. Butch Jones is recruiting his butt off over there. Clemson has a chance to really put the pressure on North when he and every other major recruit/commit left on the board are in town this weekend.
I like Clemson's chances if Hopkins leaves and especially now that there's only one other WR in this class.

RE: Klempsun lost two recruits today?
Charlie Strong to UTenn would have been a better outcome for UNC as he would have focused more on FL (half his team at L'ville is from FL) and we could have fought Clem and lil Carolina for Charlotte and Western parts of NC. Now, with Jones at UTenn, we will constantly be in battles with them for recruits.

RE: Klempsun lost two recruits today?
I thought the exact same thing. Dooley's last TN roster had a kid from Rock Hill and a kid from Raleigh. That's it. He depended on kids from GA to fill out his roster as the family name still carries weight. Jones will still go to FLA some (they did at Cincy) but NC/SC is nearest batch of athletes.

You'll have to forgive me. I believe you're being sarcastic, but its still early, and this coffee has yet to do its job. But I wouldn't worry about him not taking an official. The point of an official visit is to have the school pay for the trip. Each recruit gets 5. Now, if I'm a coveted athlete from the Charlotte area, which is what, 2 1/2, 3 hours from Chapel Hill, why would I waste one of my 5 OV to go there? I'm gonna be honest. I'm a 25 year old fat kid with absolutely zero athletic skill, but if I could play ball at any university, it would probably be UNC. However, I'm gonna use those OV's to go see the USA. Take one to Texas. UCLA. Oregon. Syracuse. Miami. And then sign with Carolina. My point is, don't be concerned if he doesn't take an official visit. Once again, if you were being facetious, I apologise.

Re: Klempsun lost two recruits today?
I understand the "logic", but how often does a kid take an official visit to those kind of heavy hitters and then sign with a team that he never had an official visit to?

CU311, not sure if you realize but, the difference in distance from Charlotte to Clemson and Chapel Hill is about 5 miles. I think that's one of the reason CU has done well in the Charlotte area in the past.

Oh, you're right. I would feel much better if he scheduled an OV. But my point is, I feel better about our chances with North not taking an OV, than I would, say, a kid from florida. --------------------------------------------- --- NCtaxguy wrote:

I didn't realize it was that close. I just remember reading that he had visited a ton of times because of how close it was. I didn't even know where he lived.
