Jacoby Brissett

Jacoby Brissett

Florida quarterback Jacoby Brissett decided to transfer after he lost a quarterback competition with Jeff Driskel this season. Brissett is reportedly interested in numerous schools. Louisville is among the top contenders.

"Source says top choices are West Virginia, Louisville, Arkansas & North Carolina State," Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post reported.

Louisville immediately pops off the page among the group of schools for one reason: Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater, like Brissett is a true sophomore. Brissett would make a move based on an assumption he would be the team's next starting quarterback after he sits out next season due to NCAA transfer rules. When it was Brissett's turn to start, Bridgewater would be a senior. Louisville may already be preparing for life without its standout quarterback after his junior campaign.

Brissett does have other options.

"Other schools QB Jacoby Brissett is considering: Mississippi St., Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Duke and Clemson," Lieser added. "But those are back-up plans."

Are we even thinking of this guy or is he just speaking in Tongues about UNC?

RE: Jacoby Brissett

He was recruited by the former staff and had a UNC offer as a HS senior, iirc.

Re: Jacoby Brissett

Was recruited by UNC after Golson went to ND, but ultimately chose the Gators to compete with Driskel (obviously that didn't go as planned). He's talented, but didn't show well at all his true freshman year when he was competing for the job.

Frankly, given the (perceived) QB depth that UNC has, I find it very hard to imagine that Brissett comes to UNC.

Re: Jacoby Brissett

He obviously doesn't like competition.

Next!

Having said that, he'd start from day 1 at MooU.

Re: Jacoby Brissett

When I read his list this morning, I was immediately intrigued by the name "Duke". After what Cut has done with other QBs over the years, someone like Brissett might be scary.

Agree with others that UNC is not realistic.

Re: Jacoby Brissett

He's going to have trouble holding the starting job down wherever he lands. He has no touch on short and intermediate throws and while he can throw the ball a long way, he's not accurate. He's like the anti-Teddy Bridgewater.
