From what i have read, many thought it was close to a lock in Dec, but TN is making strong push, he is torn between 2.

Still between Tennessee and UNC, with the Vols having a slight edge according to IC's Don Callahan.

Alston is still waiting on scores to see if he qualifies. Quite possibly, Alston could be seeking entrance into a JuCo to improve scores.
The waiting is on for the return of qualified scores.

From everything I have heard we are basically after North and a DL to close out our recruiting class. Now if North commits somewhere else early enough in the process then we may still go after Alston. If we go after Alston will also depend on what some of these other bigger name DT and DE decide to do.

we aren't thin at WR
from Nick Maddux to Savon Huggins they don't all come
we got Logan and he is the best player in the state
I have a cpl HS coaching buds who rant and rave about Trevon Brown from New Havelock HS a 6 3 215 WR 4.40 type - who has the sickest Sr video
and is somehow only ranked 55th in NC
No1 cared when Johnny Touchdown signed with aTm

North vs. Jordan Fieulleteau....both prospects seem similar in stature and stats but Jordan seems to have been forgotten since he committed so early.
Jordan will also have the added advantage of being an early enrollee with spring ball and a collegiate S&C program under his belt before he takes the field next fall.
It will be interesting to see which one ends being the better player at the next level.

Maybe Old Havelock but not New Havelock. BTW, Bruce Carter says hello, who went to Havelock. So do kevin Reddick, Kendric Burney, Deunta Williams, and Mookie Highsmith, all of whom would have played against Havelock in HS. But go ahead and be all Charlotte-centric if you want to. There's a reason the rest of us in NC call it the great state of Mecklenburg.

The only thing the Heels need is speed in Secondary and speed rushers. Offensively this upcoming season looks pretty good minus some questions on the O line but nothing to worrisome.

North seems to be quicker just based upon the videos i've watched.He returns punts & is involed in the running game via reverses and such...Jordan is a more powerful runner like a tight end.

I've seen Trevon Brown play up close and personal as coach on the opposite side of the field. He's a good player and a helluva athlete but he doesn't command the ball like North does and his route running isn't that great. Yes that's something that can be taught but North looks like an impact now guy and with our scholarships being reduce we have to be picky for now.

PS Trevon doesn't play at Havelock high plays for New Hanover. One is a back 2 back 3A champion (Havelock) the other is a really good 4A team that can't get past New Bern in the playoffs.

MJT thanks for replying, I have been scratching my head as to why this kid is so lightly regarded. I am no coach and not near the coast, so I have only seen his Jr & Sr highlight videos. Even watching him live recognizing poor route running would be beyond me, and coaches certainly don't put bad plays in those videos.
There has to be something more than just raw route running. The preponderance of touchdowns across the two videos is most impressive. His size weight and speed are reportedly the same as North's and as per those videos his instincts with the ball in his hands are eye popping. Are there really 50+ better football players in NC?
As JKHeel suggested earlier, TB's video is better than those of other WR we have in the fold or committed. The last unheralded WR my HS coaching buds told me about like this was Mookie Highsmith and he turned out ok for us. Hope UNC dosen't miss out on a great one.

You're right it has to be something more TB is without a doubt in my mind a D1 talent. I honestly would love for us to have offered him before Alston I think he's way more talented than him. Maybe it's an academic issue I really dont know but he should have offers from every ACC school in NC. The size they have him listed at is legit and he is very very quick and the offense they run at New Hanover is similar to Fedora system.

I want to be positive but don't have a reading on the direction he is heading....our chances may be going South as he is considering the East(ern) division of the South(eastern) conference. Hopefully he will get his bearings since his name and GPS indicate something more North(ern).
