Very pleased with the immediate success Fedora and staff have accomplished in one season. I look forward to the staff obtaining letters of intent (LOIs) from the stellar commits on Feb. 6th (Signing Day)

Re: Fedora: UNC moving in right direction...

I'm mostly pleased with the results of this past season, and I believe Coach Fedora has a great deal of potential, but to be fair... from a talent standpoint, Fedora walked into a fantastic situation. Can he keep the cupboard stocked, and can he improve upon it? That's the real question. And can he and his defensive coaches field a Division I BCS quality defense? That's the other big question.

In case y'all didn't watch, the Louisville team that we were one competent official's call from beating at home just whipped Florida on national TV. We'll be aight...

If we play up to our potential and can handle the big stage then I would have to agree with you.

Re: Fedora: UNC moving in right direction...

The reporting on UNC athletics by the N&O is terrible. They are rarely writing about UNC other than the scandal and when they do write about athletics it is crap like this article. I don't think the N&O is getting direct interviews from our coaches....I think the only quotes they get are from PC's.

Gio didn't play against Weak, plus we had holding and a false start called against us inside the 20 on the
Potential game winning drive in the second game of the year in a new system.

Dook was an anomaly and they had to make a contested, teeth rattling catch on fourth down to beat us.

Strong took it easy an his buddy Fedora in the 2nd half . If you don't think Louiy couldve dropped 50 on us that day and completely embarassed us, you are wrong .

Pharoh Copper is the best player in NC. Did you see him in the shrine bowl. How did we allow him to go to South Carolina to play DB. We got to stop wasting scholars on offensive players mainly. And recruit more defensive players

He received only three offers : ncst, ezu, and sc.

I guess a lot of schools failed to recognize his talents...

Re: Fedora: UNC moving in right direction...

I wouldn't got that far as to say he is the best. I do know that a lot of the so call best players in NC usually don't play in the shrine bowl for whatever reason.

As far as Cooper goes, not sure what the deal was there. Never seen a player play that much in an all-star type of game. It was like the coach was trying to showcase him above all other player. He swear he played every position on offense. He had more opportunities to shine than any other player. Kid may turn out to be the best but not sure that game gave anyone else even remotely the opportunity to make plays that he was given.

RE: Fedora: UNC moving in right direction...

Ok imagine you are a truck driver and you get a job designing jets do you think there will be a learning curve built in from your boss. I would hope so since driving trucks is all you did for 2,3 and 4 years. I give this analogy to highlight what the Heels went through this season. What Fedora did was install the most basic stuff on both sides of the ball just to be competitive. Give them a break they had to learn something very foreign in a short amount of time. I don't think the defense was really comfortable all season so I will look forward to next season for some major improvement. An added plus is there is some speed coming to town and I am already excited.

RE: Fedora: UNC moving in right direction...

Yeah, right. That is not how good coaches coach. Maybe you are really saying Strong is not that good of a coach, but a couple of SEC schools and Lville will differ with you on that opinion ( probably Florida too ).

Also one incompetent official's no call on the block in the back on Gio's punt return from having the State game go to overtime.

Moo U crybaby. There was no block in the back...the block was on the guy's arm and shoulder running perpendicular to the run of play. If the word perpendicular is too big for you...look it up

You obviously turned the game off after the first half. Either that, or you have a very bad memory.

Agree on offense but not defense. The cupboard is no where near full on tha side of the ball. Weak recruiting and talent development the past 3-4 years.

Re: Fedora: UNC moving in right direction...

I have a hard time understanding alot of the negativity.

The guy comes in and installs a completely new offensive system, completely foreign to anything we had been doing. Ran the offense with a QB who had an outstanding year in an offense that he was not best suited for or recruited to play in. He chose to come with probation and bad press everywhere and an entire football team able to transfer whereever they would want to without the penalty of sitting out a year.

In my forty years of watching Carolina football, I have never seen a staff who has been able to consistenly make halftime adjustments like this one. Fedora kept his team from falling apart after some disappointing losses and they always played hard. I finally saw a Carolina team that acted like they wanted to beat State and play with passion. These kids are playing for their school first rather than the NFL. It has been the other way around for the tenure of our prior coach.

As a football coach, I look to see if the kids are playing with playing hard with emotion. I was amazed how hard these kids played given the circumstances. Do you remember the effort in last year's bowl game? An attitude adjustment and culture change was needed. Fedora brought it and just as importantly, the kids bought it.

Was I disppointed with the play on the defensive side of the ball? You betcha! But a new defensive system with kids recruited for another defensive style, lack of depth and experience in some crucial areas, coupled with a rash on unfortunate injuries, spelled trouble. Fedora has vowed to fix the problem and I believe him.

I think Coach Fedora did one hell of a coaching job this year. An 8-4 season under the circumstances was an awesome achievement. I have never been so excited about the future of Carolina Football.
