Preferred Walk-on OL Schuyler Coleman background

Great to see the Fedora regime giving a chance to a kid who has been through so much.

You'll note that the geniuses at CMS and East Meck basically kicked the kid out of school despite him losing his mom and being confined to a wheelchair.

Wow, just wow. This is the kind of thing that makes you cry from happiness and sadness at the same time. This is the kind of guy you love to have on your team so you can watch him get better and better everyday, but if he wasn't on your team, you would still hope and pray for his success.

So happy to have him at UNC !!

6'7" and 345 !! WOW !! This is the kind of size I would love to be behind if I was a QB. Let's hope this guy can make it big time !!

'Member when Fed said he was all about kids who wanted the journey, not the destination? Schuyler has had quite the journey. He plays a single down of BCS football and it is a tremendous victory.

And a stick in the eye to all the haters who have blasted the moral standing of Carolina football.

Wow, what a story.

This kid has been through more before he turned 20 than most have in their entire lives.

OK, serious side question here...

How healthy is this kid's leg? Seeing some of those young pictures of him and hearing about these surgeries really kind of makes me nervous for him. I was skimming through this article at work. Does it mention if he is 100% and what the likelihood is that he could re-injure that leg? Seems like it's already been through some pretty traumatic things. Hopefully he's able to get back to and stay at 100%. Nervous for him though.

I don't know the details but I am 99% sure he wasn't "kicked out" of public school. If he was truly expelled, then he had legal trouble.

It's not where he has been, it's where he's going! Could be a fairy tale in the making!

Go Heels!!!

Key, I'm a CMS grad, have numerous relatives who have spent decades teaching in the system, and believe me, the place has zero common sense.

It is all about rules and regulations -- unless you know someone, it which case the rules and regs do not apply. And you have it backwards -- there are "students" will felony convictions roaming the halls of CMS HSs. Rarely does anyone get expelled -- you are just signed up for an "alternative" school where you help the district maintain headcount, and hence, the flow of state and federal $$$.
