What do you think about our.....
Ok guys... just curious to see what you think. We (Carolina Fans) gave Coach Williams hell for wearing a Kansas Jayhawk sticker on his shirt during the NCAA tournament a few years ago. Now, using that same thought process, of coaches not pulling for other colleges, regardless if they have coached there or not. Have you seen Coach Brewer, our football passing coordinator/receivers coach, twitter account?? He continually has made comments about pulling for Oklahoma State and their players. His twitter was full of comments today cheering for them.
Do you have an issue with that?? Because it's the same thing Coach Williams did.

Do we compete for FB recruits with OSU the same way we compete for bball recruits with KU? If not, then it is not the same thing as you suggest.
May want to head back over to the bball board where you seem to post more frequently as opposed to trying to stir up a ruckus among the football fans.

I see it as a non-issue. These guys put time and effort into the players and schools they work at. The connection they develop at these places of course make them want to see them do well. A part of their life was spent at other universities and there is nothing wrong with rooting for them if your dog is not in the fight. If we were playing KU or OK State I guarantee they would want to kick their tails which is really all that matters.

IIRC we were in the Final Four that year and GOT BEAT by that same KU team. I don't think OSU beat us ths year in the non-existent college football final four. Totally completely different situations.

I frequently wear a USC Trojans hoodie. I bought it at Kohl's for $8 and it is a better made sweatshirt than I have ever seen but I bleed Carolina blue and always will. Don't mean nothing.

The issue was not Williams wearing the sticker. The issue was wearing it 48 hours after that same team bounced us from the tourney. Had we lost to another team nobody would care that Coach wore a KU sticker.

Not even close to the same thing. Brewer tweets that stuff because it's a part of his track record; coaching great players and putting them in the league is something EVERY coach should do, regardless of sport.
Coach Williams wearing a KU sticker 48 hours after they beat the crap out of his team as he watched Kansas win the National Championship was is flat-out disgusting, and isn't even remotely close to what Brewer tweets out.

As a preliminary matter, I didn't get my panties in a wad about Roy wearing the KU sticker (my panties were still in a wad from 40-12).
That said, it is not even remotely the same. Ok St did not just beat us to end our season (I can't remember ever playing them at all) and we rarely (if ever) compete for the same recruits. Additionally, Brewer is not the face of the program in football like Roy is in hoops.
Analogous seems like a stretch to me, "the same thing" is absurd.

So for those of you who want me back on the "basketball side", think about it for a second. And again, it was just a question, trying to find out how you guys felt about it and just wanted to compare the two situations. I don't have a problem with it. Just curious at all. Man you guys get crazy upset over nothing over here. I'll keep that in mind.... Either way, Go Heels!!!!!

don't worry about the irrational "football board" folks who of course are the real 'Muricans versus those basketball elitists. Its just a different version of being an azzhle.
I don't care about Brewer pulling for Okie State. He's posted pics of Justin Blackmon in UNC gear in the past. So he's doing his part.

So every response you have gotten has pointed out that the situations are not even remotely the same. One poster, after pointing out that the situations are not the same, made a throw-away comment about you being a basketball only poster who comes on here to start trouble (based on past experience I'd guess) and you come back to whine about the second sentence in one post out of many?
I'd say you got your backside handed to you based on the content of your post, not your forum of choice.

"Over here"? I thought this was a UNC message board. I just don't get how you can be a fan of one team at a school and not all the teams at the school.
Who do you follow for CFB? Baseball? Hockey (ugh)? Soccer? Or is it just all about bball?
