Mike Glennon and State fans

Mike Glennon and State fans

I had a State fan AFTER Glennon threw those picks. He said "Glennon is still better than any UNC QB ever." I almost died.

hilarious tweets from the state game

Steven Godfrey@38Godfrey
NCS fans giving their own team double birds after that fumble. If the SEC ever loses Arkansas in a fire, it's good to know you're here, Pack

edsbs@edsbs
Mike Glennon still leads all prospective NFL draft picks in neckness.

I think Glennon is overrated, but the bar regarding past UNC QBs isn't very high. Glennon will most certainly be drafted higher than any UNC QB has.

I don't think Glennon is really that much better than Renner, and you also have to consider Glennon is a 5th year senior and Renner is only in his second year in his system(Renner was also pretty good in the Pro Style as well).

I wouldn't be surprised to see Renner make massive improvements next year like many Spread QBs do in their second year in this system. It isn't out of the picture for Renner to end up being a Second-Day pick like Glennon will probably be, along with being drafted higher.

Due to a weak talent at the QB position, Glennon rated the #4 QB in the upcoming 2013 Draft. Barkely', from Southern Cal, entry into the draft pushed Glennon to #4 from #3.

Glennon's lack of progress this year is startling, considering he had no obligations to attend classes and spent full time in the film room or in other training. Has he reached his full potential already?

Really too broad of a topic.

Does it mean better as a NFL Prospect? Better as a college player?

Keldorf was just as good of a college QB.

I could not care less what any NCSU anything has an opinion about. I long for the day they are not mentioned on this board. It's like Mom ........ fill in the blank. The only way that school is ever revelant is if we make them relevant

We will see once MG is in the NFL,TJ already has a playoff win as a backup,I'm really surprised he hasn't seen the field due to Houstons melt down the past two games.I honestly think he could start for another team.

Let's see. Raleigh Tech was 7-6 and finished 3rd in the Atlantic Division. We were 8-4 and could have easily been 11-1 and were the Coastal Division Champs. You just can't figure out those Aggie fans.

Re: Mike Glennon and State fans

Per ESPN stats...

Glennon is ranked 66th in Quarterback Rating.
Renner is ranked 24th in Quarterback Rating.
Glennon's completion percentage is 58.5% (330/564).
Renner's completion percentage is 65.4% (276/422).
Glennon's yards per attempt is 7.9.
Renner's yards per attempt is 8.0.
Glennon's TD-to-Int is 31:17.
Renner's TD-to-Int is 28:7.
Glennon is tied for the most interceptions in D1 this year (17).

For what it is worth. I'd take Renner over Glennon.

Of course, we could have also been 6-6 if you add close wins (Miami and State) to the loss column in the same way close losses have been treated. All teams have woulda-coulda-shoulda games during a season.

Re: Mike Glennon and State fans

I will take the blue shades off.

Glennon is a good quarterback and has a very good, NFL arm. He was dealing with some pathetic receivers this year that seemed to drop the ball all the time. However, his decision making especially under pressure is terrible. If the state fan's assertion is correct, if you put Glennon in a UNC uniform, he would be the best UNC QB ever is just absurd. I don't see MG making it long in the NFL, just doesn't have the decision making ability. Pressure is greater in NFL than college. Of course there are some bad qb's playing in the league right now, so you just never know.

Re: Mike Glennon and State fans

I've been impressed with Glennon. Stands tall in the pocket and he can make every throw. He clearly was handicapped this year because State had no running game to protect him. Their entire offense went through him. That's a lot of pressure for one guy. Very similar to when TJ was here. And it didn't help that his WRs dropped a ton of balls. He's going to get a shot for some NFL team, that's for sure.

Barkley is a Senior this year. The draft is his only option if he wants to continue playing football.

RE: Mike Glennon and State fans

I still think it was almost a sin to kick one of the best QBs in the history of the school to the curb so you could play Glennon. Maybe not a sin, but certainly not very smart, nor does it show any appreciation for what Wilson did there. But I hope they enjoyed him, because it is downhill for them from here.

I think TOB did the right thing with Wilson/Glennon. He certainly didn't throw him under the bus. You're either a full time member of the team or you're not. Wilson wanted to be a part-timer and still have the starting job handed to him in the fall. That's not fair to the rest of the team and certainly wasn't fair to Glennon. Things might have been different if Glennon wasn't very good, but that obviously wasn't the case. He's very good, IMO.

Raleigh Tech could've easily lost the Maryland game as well...relying on a missed 30 yd FG at the end of the game. A 30-yd FG is around a 90% proposition.

Not to mention FSU choked their game away in Raleigh...giving up a 4th down at the end in the process.

They were literally 2 plays away from being 5-7...

I probably am crazy but he's never really shown me anything special and IMO anyone who is afraid of QB competition in college isn't going to make it far in the league.
