To he** with the dookies. Fumbled twice inside the five and blew it when victory was there for the taking. I agree, Cut is a decent guy but their players were woofing all night like they were the greatest team ever, and don't even get me started about their "fans". Most of them total tools who came out of the woodwork for this sterling 6-7 year. They go back to 4-8 next year. We owe them a beatdown of biblical preportions (sorry Rev).

No apology necessary. I'll also be cheering for the biblical beatdown.

And wailing.

All I'm hearing from my 2 dook friends is, "we beat you and we went to a bowl game." I reply, "record book shows dook, ACC record, 3-5, overall, 6-7, Belk Bowl record, 0-1. Sad, just so sad."

They're celebrating in Derm because of the ALMOST bowl victory and all the records Vernon and Renfree set at dook this year. Parade starts at 2PM. Starts at Five Points, crosses Chapel Hill Street and ends at the Carolina Theater. Don't miss it!!!

Re: Anyone watching Dook tonight?

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but no one really knows if it was on purpose. Logically, a coach should not want to put the opposing team's kicker closer to the goal posts, especially when that kicker is standing aon the edge of impossible.

Regardless of the penalty, when the whistle blows, the whistle blows, so whatever happens after that is meaningless - even if you're Duke. There is no change in the rules that will rectify this.

I certainly can understand Cutliffe's frustration, but I suspect he was already in a foul mood due to losing a 16 point lead in such quick fashion - especially against a team in obvious disarray with half its coaching staff missing.

Based on UC's less than cohesive performance, I'm unsure whether or not they suddenly became clever enough to bend the rules.

Under normal circumstances, that penalty works in Duke's favor.

It's still bush league, period. The staff purposefully ran that player on the field late to et the flag simply because they didn't have a TO to burn. And to the guy who said the interim has a job waiting at UTenn, I fully understand that, but he proved himself to be a tool with that decision in my mind.

From what I understand, the flags were thrown before the snap, so the play was dead. The result is that Duke was five yards closer to the goal post.

If Duke missed that first field goal, do you think their coach would have been complaining about being closer?

I'm not drinking anyone's kooł-aid, that was a bush league call by a wanna be coach. The rules committee should change the rule so that an in eligible player penalty with no timeouts by the offending team can be declined or. More severe penalty like a 15 yard personal foul.
