Records Falling Under Fedora

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Larry Fedora has grown accustomed to rewriting the record books at each of his coaching destinations and North Carolina is no different. The Tar Heels set 40 new individual and team records and tied eight more during the 2012 season.

Hopefully, the records falling, don't cause for him to look for greener pastures.

Would you rather he not set records and stay put?

Re: Records Falling Under Fedora

See, winning brings some many options. I could care less about records. He was brought here to win not break records. At least, I hope, he was brought here to win and not break records. If breaking records occur, so be it. Records don't take you to the BCS, ACC Championship(s), beat our rivals, bring in recruits, etc. Records are records. I would prefer to have someone stay put like Dean Smith, like Roy Williams, like someone who wants to be here and build, maintain and manage a program for the long haul. Am I being unrealistic as a fan? It's called stability. It's called telling a parent of a 3,4,5 star kid that, "I've been at this program for ? years and I don't plan on going anywhere".

It's kind of simple he can have teams here that set numerous records and WIN BIG and stay for many years if he wants, and I'm not being greedy as I type this!!!!!!

Re: Records Falling Under Fedora

The 1 record i want to see broke is being at one university longer than any other acc head football coach. Frank beamer owns that record now.

Fedora could reach "Dean Smith" of football status, if he sticks around...In my opinion.

Merry Christmas to all....

Re: Records Falling Under Fedora

Why can't we expect Coach Fedora to continue breaking records as well as maintain coaching stability in our football program?

I'd like to be the first to congratulate him on breaking the record for most points allowed in an ACC contest.

Re: Records Falling Under Fedora

What I was saying is, I enjoy breaking records, winning, new uniforms and all of the above with this newness at UNC but I don't want to sacrifice a coach staying around for 10+ years at the expense of him breaking reacords, schools offering him tons of money and we have to start over with a new coach in less than 5yrs when the program is just taking off.

Re: Records Falling Under Fedora

If Fedora is breaking records AND wins an ACC Championship or beyond, he will be compensated accordingly! Would be his decision then whether he wants to leave for a different job. I feel confident Bubba and the Rams Club will do all they can to make Fedora happy if he is having success.

Only thing we might need to work on is fan support...

I would love to see a thread or two that reads, "Fedora wins ACC Title", "Fedora leads UNC to a BCS bowl", "Fedora in only his 3rd year has won 2 titles", etc....

I'm hoping, after a slow start, he oversees a bunch of defensive records broken.......in a good way.
