GT waxed UNC at Kennan......I think we could have scored 80.

Miami is ineligible. If UNC were eligible (which they weren't), GT goes because of head-to-head.

This is Baghdad Bob style propaganda from Chapel Hill in the hopes of delivering a bit of excitement. It's cheap. UNC is a better product than this. The Coastal wasn't anything to write home about and GT isn't plastering billboards about winning it, but this is downright fabrication and UNC should be ashamed. Just go ahead and declare yourselves National Champs it would hold the same relevance.

You are an idiot. Period.

UNC didn't win the games on the field to declare themselves National Champs.

UNC did win the games on the field to declare themselves Coastal Division champs.

Offensively pretty darn good.Defensively, not so much. What does impress me is that this team could have just given up, transferred out, said to **** with it but they didn't.To a man. They fought against the adversity with weapons of football skills, on the field.Accomplished the only goals within their grasp. They helped to build a foundation on which future Carolina teams could build on.For that I am extremely proud of this team, maybe above all others.

Guess this guy don't understand the TIE breaker! if all were eligible UNC would have been playing for ACC title we were not yes we tied but we are still champs and to honor the kids that stuck it through all the CRAP they been through is the least our school and coach can do! GT let us honor our team! And go back to your hole!!

RE: Coastal Division champs!

miami isn't "ineligible". they were eligible. they decided to make themselves "ineligible" and thus turned down the opportunity to represent the coastal in the conference championship. it is ONLY because of that move did GT get into the championship. GT owns its berth to miami's decision to make itself "ineligible".

Not all of them, just this particular one who came on another team's board with incorrect information.

68 to 50 isnt exactly what i call getting waxed, 35-0 or 52 - 7
is getting waxed, giving up 67 points aint nothing to brag about for sure...but giving up 50 aint either, i see Fedora beating a Yellowjacket
with a sledgehammer this spring like he did with the wolfee...we gotta beat those ***** next year

True, technically 63-35 is just as lopsided as 35-7, at least in the size of the margin. And though nervewracking, more fun to watch.

GT was a good representative of the ACC in its bowl game win over USC. As for ACC championship game they were a default third place finish given the opportunity to play FSU with a .500 record.

Coastal Division Champs > 4th place in conference (in a 9 team conference)

RE: Coastal Division champs!

The two are similar. Both teams accomplished made a small leap that year, but it shouldn't garner such self praise (parade for NC State, billboards/gear for UNC).

Also interesting that I automatically am an "aggie" considering that 7 out of the last 10 posts have been on this website, usually in praise of UNC.

Re: Coastal Division champs!

So a Division Championship is a small leap? and comparable to a 4th place out of 9 team finish? I've got zero problem with us putting up billboards to help with recruiting and if it ****** off the aggies that makes me like them that much more.

A parade and commemorative sports section pullouts is over the top for fourth place conference finish but hey that's the high point of the last 30 years.

Didn't check your posting history but you obviously aren't a Carolina football fan if you are comparing this to their 2003 season. And I guess someone should tell the SEC schools that they shouldn't celebrate Divison Championships anymore. I guess you can stop by Georgia and South Carolina's mesaage boards and break the news to them.

Re: Coastal Division champs!

Winning in the SEC is much different than winning in the ACC. They made up 5 out of 10 teams according to Sagarin...

usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt12.htm

As RoyIsTheBest has stated earlier, Carolina was favored in 11 out of 12 games and only managed to win 8 of them. But hey, congrats on winning 2/3rds of the games you were favored to win this year. Carolina under preformed and you know it.

This is the equivalent to TBF releasing his own logo after under preforming at UNC.
