Additions to son's profile

How do you add a profile photo of your son ? As you receive letters of interests from schools, how do you add/update these schools on your profile ?

You need to contact the person in your state who would be interested in your son's recruitment.

Look here and find your state:
http://preps.scout.com/

Read articles they have written on similar athletes, and see if an email link is included for the reporter.
If the person posts on the state forum and/or is a moderator, you can also send a private message by clicking on their name.

Don't put everything in the pm, just write something short like,
"my son Jake Monroe is a DT for South High School in Normantown. He's class of 2013. Is there an email address I can send you updates on the schools he's heard from, and provide a new profile photo? I can provide contact information if you have questions for Jake. Thanks .." .&  include YOUR EMAIL to get a response. They may Private Message you back through Scout, but many prefer to move to a direct email.
Important: if you give them an email, monitor the box. I've heard of people who find out weeks later they were asked a question and forgot to respond. Waste of time for all concerned.

Depending on how large your state is, there may be several reporters/site publishers who are interested. You can do the same thing for the college site for each university that has contacted your son. For example, if it's LSU, go to the LSU site and contact the person there to let them know. (Just an example, of course.)
Select the college of interest from this list
http://college.scout.com/

the site publishers would be interested to know when coaches have made contact with a high school player since college coaches can't release that info.

I STRONGLY recommend you read as many articles on a particular site before you contact the reporter or site publisher. Get used to the person's style and be prepared to answer the types of questions other players have been asked.

Here are the keys to the kingdom: this link includes a US map showing which publishers are where, and including emails. Don't waste anyone's time, keep your comments brief and provide what is asked of you. Remember they are hearing from hundreds or thousands of players every week.

If you get a new photo or update to one person at Scout, it will update on the main profile. You don't need to send to every site, just reach someone at one place.
