The NFL Is Rigged

The NFL Is Rigged

I have no more respect for this league.

We dominated that game and referees  and communications thieves have taken 4 victories away from us.

I have no respect for this garbage. I played football. I know what football is.

This is garbage, plain and simple.

This is no different from cornball wrestling.

It's not about how smart you are or how skilled you are or anything like that.

This is nothing more than a show.

There was no way in hell that they should have beaten us.

This is about special interests making money. I'm almost done with professional sports. The people in control are scum.

Speaking of scum, either Shaun Suisham or the long snapper, just like like Dan Turk was, during that playoff game against Tampa Bay, IS involved in the scam. Someone is against us.

We missed an extra point that would have sealed the game!!!!  How are the refs responsible for that?

Some games are fixed, some aren't. It isn't a full blown show out there. But some games definitely have outside influences. Especially when the league sees a potential matchup between two undefeated teams in the Super Bowl. The Saints and Colts are riding the wave, IMO.

Which play in particular was rigged? Some one told Campbell to throw the INT. Was Susiam paid off to miss the FG? Someone told Sellars to fumble?

It's kind of funny that personal attacks are accepted when they are directed at a guy making an unpopular claim. And agree with the OP or not, I'm not sure how anybody can think that such a claim is ridiculous, especially considering stories of games being fixed have came out in the past. I personally attended a fixed college football game in the past. I'm not sure what happened to the players involved, but they got caught.

Pitt vs Boston College on Halloween night. Some of you may remember.

No, he's absolutely right. The F'n refs WEEK AFTER WEEK AFTER WEEK keep biting on double moves for touchdowns

Oh, wait...
Also, you keep reading this because there is no divider.

You act like fixing pro sports is so out of the question.  NBA ref just did time in jail for betting on games.  As I mentioned earlier, I was in attendance at a fixed game in the past.  It's not really that far fetched.  Agree or disagree, but it has happened before and it could of happened today.

So I'm not allowed to say that his comment reflects a lack of maturity and he demonstrates a puerile understanding of the game, how it is officiated, and how the league operates?  I'm not allowed to note that his comments remind me of dialogue typically found among those participating in the single digit grades of our education system?

Well, maybe you are correct. Maybe he is more mature than that and there is some actual evidence for his charge other than his own poorly articulated and terribly misdirected sense of outrage, grievance, and disappointment.

Because if not,  I'm actually wishing that instead of saying 'grow up', I had used the more robust 'grow tf up'.

Just one more team learning about the NFL's bias for the Aints.  You will see the same thing happen in the playoffs this year.devil

Terry, you are allowed to do whatever you want.  You are an adult.  But he was called a moron by another poster.

I happen to agree with some of what he was saying.  And I don't have any type of emotional investment towards the game anymore.  No outrage, grievance and disappointment.  I'm just a poster with an opinion, just like you.

So do you think that there were merely bad calls, or biased calls with an eye towards a particular NFL outcome today?

Do you believe that there is a body within the NFL, that doen't include the owners, that wants the season to break a certain way?

Do you believe that a conspiracy to call plays certain ways for certain teams exists, and can be kept secret among all the officials manning the games?

The field goal that would've iced it.  Correct in everything that you say except for field goals. But that Dan Turk snap against Tampa Bay was rigged and so was that play.

Fixes in this day are far more subtle.

The NFL is fixed.  Probably not all games, but this one was for sure.  What surprised me was how obvious it was today.   They didn't even try to hide it.  They are probably laughing behind close doors that people still are blind to it even when it's right in front of their face.  Most people are in denial though and just can't accept the concept of shaving points and such.

This is an interesting video about the rigged NFL.

Oh, wait...

La Ron Landry is a safety who should never let anyone behind him. I agree. He doesn't play his position as well as he should.

There are 3 TDs that shouldn't have happened. (2 Landry bites and that Meachem strip. That's a joke.)  I'm not speaking of that. That's straight football.

I guess what I mean is that we should never let a kicker have to decide a game. Something is wrong. Badly wrong.

Then you should know that fixing an NFL game to ensure a particular outcome would be virtually impossible without the referees not just making a few incorrect but close calls in favor of one team, but making so many egregiously bad calls in favor of that team over the course of the entire game that it would be impossible to hide.

And why in the world would the NFL care about the outcome of today's game in the first place?  Because the Saints have never won anything?  Because the league has it out for Snyder?  State your case.

Had we lost to New York today in the same fashion, would you be saying "The NFL is fixed in favor of New York teams because it's the biggest market!"?  Had we lost to Dallas, New England or Pittsburgh, would the argument be, "The NFL is fixed in favor of these teams with bandwagon fans!"?

I'm sure you're grown up, but this thread is absurd.

I believe there are certain owners that are hated around the league and their teams may suffer because of that.

I believe a guy like Tom Brady will get a call that Jason Campbell won't get.

I have seen Donovan McNabb call a penalty on the defense.. and get the flag a second later.

I think the league protects its big time players, and I think they protect their undefeated teams this late in the season.  A Super Bowl with two undefeated teams would sure make a lot of money.

And it certainly isn't out of the question to consider the possibility that a kicker might miss a kick on purpose for money.  The league is a multibillion dollar business.  Players have a lot of money to gamble and a lot of money to win.  Everybody has a price.

RE: The NFL Is Rigged

Skinsdevils, that NBA ref that just got busted was one of the most successful bettors in the world. For the most part, it only takes a bad call or two to sway a game in a team's favor. I watched a college receiver fumble a ball without being touched on his way into the endzone. I mentioned it before, that game was proven to be fixed. It has been done before and I find it hard to believe that it was uncovered and leaked every time a game was fixed. Do you believe that there have only been a handful of attempts to fix games and they are the ones that were uncovered and we know about?

And why would the league favor the Saints? They have a good chance of going undefeated. That does good for ratings when you have an undefeated team. It probably doesn't hurt merchandise sales either. If them and the Colts are both undefeated and play in the Super Bowl can you imagine how that would be for the league?

Well, I am not saying this is the case.

But are you trying to say that it is physically impossible that someone from Vegas, or someone somewhere, approached Suisham and said "$1,000,000 if the game is close and you miss."

I mean, sorry folks, but it is not out of the realm of possibility.

And why when anyone mentions "fixing a game", the referees are automatically thought of?

That is not the only way to fix a game.

That being said, the Redskins made far too many mistakes to say this game was rigged.

Or one rich RICH mofo really wanted the Skins to lose by 3 badly.  They had to pay Suisham to miss, Barnes to get under a punt, and Moore to get an INT and then fumble, and JC to throw an INT.

That is a lot of quan..  LOL...

Penalties called:
Saints: (Number-Yards) 7 - 102
Redskins: (Number-Yards) 2 - 15

So how is that fixed in the Saints favor?

Re: The NFL Is Rigged

My statement, although true it was emotional, was the belief that Suisham helped throw the game. Maybe this game, the Dallas and others were coincidental.

I believe that the Dan Turk, Tampa Bay playoff game was similar.

I believe that there are very subtle ways to cost a team a game.

Whether you agree or not, my post does not make me a moron. Nor does it make me immature, inarticulate, or with a poor understanding of football.

Perhaps, some people should base their arguments on why they disagree, rather than personal attacks upon me.

Where did anyone say the REFS fixed the game?

You can rolleyes all you want but at least learn to read all the posts first.

And I agree with Warpath West.  Whether you like his take or not, the personal attacks are against the forum rules.  His take isn't.

Fair enough. I should have been more clear and said "Where did anyone say ONLY the REFS were responsible?"

But he also said in subsequent posts before your post that he thought the fix was in with someone that was not a referee. Not only that, but the number of penalties doesn't mean anything anyway. 1 wrong call could be viewed as fixing the game if it is blatant.

As far as name calling, Terry told him to "grow up." I guess you could construe that as a "personal attack", but I took that more as a little friendly advice, and it is not nearly as much a shot as calling him a moron out right.

I never said you made personal attacks and I should have been more clear on that as well since I included it in a quoted response to you.
