Am I the Only One Wishing Campbell will STFU & Play?!!!!!

My goodness gracious, has the young man learned anything during his time away over the bye week? Did he not do any reflecting on how HE MUST IMPROVE HIS GAME instead of obsessing about the fanbase and how they will treat him when things go awry at the next home game?

Apparently flippin not. See the quote below from today's WP Insider. Will someone please change his diaper?

I'm sorry, but at some point you shut your mouth and you focus ONLY on the next game, the next series, the next play. He still doesn't get that.

And I for one resent being labeled by that loser Campbell as some sort of ignorant fan. The 'eye in the sky don't lie,' and QB experts from Jaws to Sonny have noted time and again Campell's deficiencies. It's just painful watching, listening to, or reading about this guy.

He is incredibly thin skinned - and far too introverted - to lead this team in its moment of crisis. Please Lord give Zorn the wisdom to end the Campbell experiment and put Todd in there for the remainder of the season.

It's well past time for the team to move on and move forward.

Campbell finds road games easier right now

If the bye week was exactly what this Redskins team needed last week, a road game might be the best way for the offense to begin this next stretch of the schedule. Or so says quarterback Jason Campbell. Speaking with reporters today, Campbell said at this point in the season, it's easier for the offense to operate on the road.

"The reason you say that is because if there's a bad play or there's a throw-away or something, we know why we had to do it," Campbell said. "But from fans' standpoint, they don't understand. They think that everything's always open or everything always supposed to be done a certain way. You don't have to worry about the negativity. On the road, you can kind of regroup on the sideline and move forward."

RE: Am I the Only One Wishing Campbell will STFU &

You could apply that to just about every player on the roster - I've heard multiple players gripe about the fans and media being too tough on them and we just don't understand how hard it is, wah wah wahhhhh

This team needs to worry more about what they are doing and less about what anyone else thinks, says, does, etc. Clearly they haven't figured that out yet as they haven't put one solid game together all year.

RE: Am I the Only One Wishing Campbell will STFU &

Duly noted, Hog.

I guess I expect more from a team captain, ESPECIALLY the QB who is in his flippin contract year.

What a disaster he has been - the pressure was turned up in the offseason as first Cutler and then Sanchez were pursued, and things have gone from bad to worse on offense (from scheme to the injury bug).

Yet in none of that chaos have I seen a battlefield commander. Certainly not for 60 minutes. Is that too much to ask - that for one flippin game, win or lose, we get a complete game performance out of the alleged on-field leader of the offense?

JC is a great guy, but I'm hoping he shuts up and doesn't play.

"If he was sick, I don't really want to see him when he's not sick," said Red Sox manager Terry Francona,

All of his games next season will be away from FedEx.

Of course, I don't see him starting for another team unless he goes to grad school at Auburn and tries to sneak on the field.

Is Jason Campbell the reason that offensive coordinators keep disappearing?

Giles,

Well done. Now that would be the best of both worlds - Jason goes silent, Todd goes deep! Santana goes the distance!! Skins score!!!

Jason Campbell, at best, is a backup QB.

JC has been the starter for 43 straight games in 4 seasons (except for injury in '07) and has thrown for 43 TDs for a 1.0/game. He's been pulled once in that span and has won 17 games.

He should STFU because he's the most coddled QB in the history of the NFL.

More Drama Than I Signed Up For

Campbell's in a very difficult situation.   Even if his play improves, he's not apt to be back here next season.   I think he's really auditioning for someone else.

I just hate seeing him do it on our dime, so to speak.

Campbell could go play in the UFL next year...which is probably where he will end up. There the media and fans don't give a crap about anything. It's a QB wonderland.

I actually in the opposite camp biggest.  I wish Campbell would talk more and play less, like sit on the bench where he can cheer us on......or boo I don't care what he says, but the less he plays, the better.

sorry giles, didn't see your post, I agree with you 100%

If this is Campbell in "audition mode" then that really says all we need to know about the guy.

Now I actually wish Fred Davis  would have went on vacation instead of refining his blocking skills... Either way I think John Abraham is going to be all over this epic waste of money and draft picks so maybe we'll see Collins after Campbell gets knocked TF out....

Re: Am I the Only One Wishing Campbell will STFU &

It's a shame that even when things were going badly under Joe Gibbs, we never got this amount of whinning from the players about the fans not understanding and how tough it is. I mean a few weeks ago we had our fullback leading the whine club - your fullback? When did Sellars get soft in the body and mind?

Joe Gibbs was a legend and bred tough players even in Gibbs II. This roster has got softer since he left and we need to find a tough-minded coach who can lead this crowd. It's a shame we no longer have Gregg Wiliams still in the building.

Fans are smarter than players give them credit for, this isn't 1950. Fans understand the game of football, I don't know why he feels the need to keep calling the fanbase stupid (that's basically what he's saying)

I used to like him, even after I turned on him as a player I still liked him as a person. I'm not even sure if I like him at all right now. I can't wait until he's gone.

Campbell and Zorn deserve each other and the fate that goes with it.

I wish they were both gone...yesterday. I won't watch another game until those two and Vin Weasel are history. I abhor the sight of 'em.

The kid just can't win, reporters ask him ??'s, he answers = he whines, he stinks...not a leader, when he doesn't say anything = he's can't even make excuses, he stinks..blah..blah

we saw what collins brings to the table...it won't matter one bit which qb is behind center the rest of the season cause we do not have NFL level talent at the position

Dreams are but reality waiting for their moment in the sun.

RE: Am I the Only One Wishing Campbell will STFU &

The starting QB is complaining about fans getting upset about a very bad 2-5 team, with the two wins coming from Tampa and St. Louis by a combined 5 points???  The team hasn't scored 30 points in a game since 2007.  The team has TWO offensive touchdowns in the first half of games this season.

A guy who can only read one half of the field on any given play should think twice before calling out fans for not understanding the game.

Ditto.

And I think the only way his play ever improves would be to go to the UFL as someone suggested. Or, as my fiancee says, to go play the Belle Bull Pups (a pee wee football team - LOL).

He's as much as he's ever going to be at this level. And that ain't much.

That sounds perfect for Campbell.  It gives him the built-in excuse of always needing a few extra years for the kids to mature and get bigger.

Well, only problem is, they've been running the same offensive system with the same OC for years now, so he loses that one!

RE: Am I the Only One Wishing Campbell will STFU &

Skinsking,

Collins is no cry baby. And that difference alone - not the fact he's Wayyyyyyyyyy better at QB than Campbell - is reason enough for me to want him under center.

Please spare me the 'kid can't win' violin serenade for Campbell, OK. He's been pampered and coddled for far too long now. It's time for him to sh_t or git, ya know?

For once, I would like to see Campbell tell Reid or whomever the reporter asking the question is (or baiting him, I'll grant you that) that he'll do his talking with his play on the field - to ask the reporters to wait until they see what unfolds on the field Sunday - or whatever - rather than asking such mind numbing questions. He doesn't HAVE to answer them, and I would prefer that he didn't.

I also want Campbell to quit referring to me and others in the fanbase as stupid, because we're not. It's so flipping passive aggressive.

From what I see during games, it's Jason who has the low football IQ - poor field vision and deficient command of the offense. I'm so completely done with his arse.
