Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

If you thought Mike Holmgren might be coming to Washington, well it might be a case of think again:

Our reputation as an organisation to work for has severly been tarnished over the past month. Who would seriously want to come work for Snyder and Cerrato?

Re: Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

Yet another reason Snyder needs to sell the team....he won't be able to buy a good coach.

I assume any good GM is thinking like Holmgren and won't want to tarnish his resume...not matter what kind of money Snyder throws this way.

Give it up, Snyder.  Your days are numbered.

Not that I disagree with Holmgren, but he is one of the whiniest coaches of all time. I especially loved his class in not shaking Bill Cowher's hand and congratulating him after the super bowl, but instead pissing and moaning to the refs after the game was over with. I'm glad he's not coming here.

Our reputation was already severely tarnished. Look back to just before Zorn's hiring. Spagnuolo and Schwartz couldn't run away from us fast enough! And where did they gladly go? To two of the worst, most talent starved teams in the league!

Right now our severely tarnished reputation is just increasingly on display. (thank god!)

NO ONE credible will come work here unless something DRASTIC happens! Bank it!

Holmgren probably goes to Carolina now and hires Zorn as QB coach or OC. Zorn may do well as an OC if he Holmgren is calling plays.

Vinny and Danny made their bed giving the guy too much to do too quickly, and they just prayed it didn't blow up. They they tried to scramble and shift the blame away from themselves.

Now, now, what are you gonna do when you ask the Eight Ball if Zorn should be head coach and it tells you

Holmgren says he's a nice guy. Shanahan and Gruden are more ruthless. I'll take either one and be happy about it.

I think we all know that he will be the next HC now. Like Marty who I think said he could never work for somebody like Snyder before he was hired.

Danny going to go out of his way to prove that "everybody has a price"

Re: Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

I just had a bad thought reading this thread.

If Snyder waits until the season is over I can think of a current NFL head coach that might take the Redskins job.

He is enough of a weasel to tell Snyder all the things he wants to hear, and be the lackey to take the blame as things continue at the status quo, and in all likelihood have few other job offers.

Well Vinny I gues you are not going to get a job shagging doughnuts for Mike Holgram. Just another guy that has crossed you off their list.

Any minute now I expect Donovan to sue Holmgren for defamation.

This is terrible news! You mean that the 'Skins have no shot at hiring Holmgren? Oh, the humanity....and he might take Zorn with him to another job?

I was so looking forward to creating Shehawks east with the Holmgren at the wheel.

Is Jason Campbell the reason that offensive coordinators keep disappearing?

RE: Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

Well, IMO Zorn isn't anything special as an NFL HC. Maybe he would have developed, but the man has proven he's stubborn and unwilling to change course when things aren't working. His dogged commitment to the WCO when it hasn't worked since the midpoint of last season soured me on JZ early.

Sure, VinDanny should be blamed for the hire, but we need to admit he's not much of a HC.

MNF--Seemed to me that Jon Gruden was talking like a guy auditioning for a job.  Many suitors, but I'm guessing he goes to the highest bidder.

We can cross Mike Holgrem's name off the list which is too bad because at least he got to a Superbowl without Brett Farve. The same can't be said about Brett Farve.

Re: Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

I'm definitely against Holmgren being here, but I think that's a pretty safe bet after his comments! I'm so glad he said them though. Look, if anything Holmgren is widely respected around the league, so it just further shows how bad Danny's reputation is out there. Of course, I'm sure Gruden would be here if the opportunity presented itself, but you gotta think he hears things and wonders if it would be a good fit....

Mike Holmgren's career regular season record: 157-100  (winning % of .610).  Three Super Bowl appearances.

Yeah, that's not the kind of guy we need around here.  We need MORE!!!  We want MORE!!!

RE: Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

There's no misdirection of blame to be allowed either. Danny and Vinny are directly responsible for this condition which has existed before Zorn got here and most likely will reamin the same after Zorn is gone.

If you wiatched the Saints game last night, you heard a lot about how well Mickey Loomis and Sean Peyton get along, it is important that the Coach and GM gel or you get what we have here in Washington - a blithering mess.

Only Joe Gibbs seemed to get along well enough with management... even at times it seemed a little laborsome.. Norv hated Vinny, Robiski didn't care for him, Shotty fired Vinny, Spurrier didn't like him, Gibbs tolerated him, Zorn probably hates him.

We've got a problem and that problem is management.

Yes, they need to fire Zorn but any good GM will do that 5 minutes after they take the job.

Re: Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

This is exactly what I have feared...thiis debacle runs deeper than just public humiliation.

Mr Snyders stubboness has created an enviroment thatno respected tenured coaching candidate or hot up & coming prospect would want any part of....

Snyder is going to have to be willing to hand his team over to a respected GM and allow him the room and freedom to rebuild the franchises reputation and respect level.

How far we have fallen.............ohlordohlord

If Snyder fires Vinny, and it's a huge if, he will get a top notch GM and a good coach.

He has hurt himself, obviously, with a lot of quality NFL people. However, don't think that the job itself isn't attractive. It is.

What job are you talking about?  The unlikely and hypothetical "Redskins GM if Snyder leaves you alone" job, or the current "You will have the title of Executive VP, but Snyder will want to work with you in running the team" job?

Re: Holmgren speaks out about Zorn's Treatment

Snyder can begin a process of redemption at seasons end by just stepping to the mic and stating that the things that where tried in the past have not gotten it done and it's time for change....

The worst thing about what's happening now is

1) No word from the Man in Charge

2)No action from the "  "       " "    " "

The current state of this franchise is directly connected to the actions and at times over reactions of the owner and front office i.e Vinnie..  this is not hard to figure out noideanoideadon't shift the wieght ohlordohlord learn, adapt, CHANGE

What exactly have you seen from Snyder over the past 10 years that indicates to you that he will do that?
