huge loss for the ravens. that changes their entire defense. i never like to see that happen to anybody, on any team. hope he's back soon for them.

Big loss for the Ravens, but.. big opportunity for Courtney Upshaw, who was showcased on the NFL Network's draft wrap-up as one of the guys in the Green Room who was upset about dropping to the second round (taken #35 by Baltimore, so he didn't drop that far into the 2nd).

Upshaw doesn't have the crazy athleticism of some 3/4 OLB players, but the guy produced big time at Alabama. It'll be pretty difficult to replace a reigning DPOY, but I think Baltimore's system can survive this.

yeah as usual the ravens have a player waiting in the wings. he's no suggs but i think he could really run with this opportunity. it's doubtful teams will have to gameplan specifically for him the way they did for suggs but it'll be interesting to see how the kid does. i thought he was a really good pickup for them anyway and just rolled my eyes when he fell in their lap in round 2!

Wow!  Didn't Terrell Suggs just sign a new contract recently?

Answered my own question:
BALTIMORE -- Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs signed a six-year, $63 million contract Wednesday, making him the highest-paid linebacker in NFL history. July 15, 2009
No play is to big for Colin Kaepernick!!!

The Local news in the DC/baltimore area has Suggs saying he WILL Suit up for the Ravens this year

that's gonna be really tough. i'm not sure it's smart to even attempt that but i'm sure he'll work closely with team doctors.
