Re: Clements Injury
Not good... Pretty rare injury so unsure how long he'll be out.. I guess it depends on how badly it's fractured.. We really need him in Week 14 against the Cards... I wore his jersey today so i hope i didn't jinx him... Hope Staley is okay..

RE: Clements Injury
so now the injuries start to pile up on this squad.
the way things are going, with this mickey mouse OC running things, we could be 3-9 before we go on our end of the season run again.
and by then, Shaun Hill might be QB again.

Re: Clements Injury
Spencer, Brown & Bly did a pretty good job. They did get beat but it was an off day for Manning. Actually, the DL did a good job of not allowing Manning to step up in the pocket. Nate Clements being out, Tarell Brown will get a chance to show us his skills.

RE: Clements Injury
Staley is getting an MRI tomorrow to see how bad the sprain is, the feeling around the team is that it isn't season-ending. He was seen walking around the locker room without a brace on.

RE: Clements Injury
i think one of our many priorities this offseason is to find a franchise offensive tackle.
Sims stinks and Snyder is a better Guard than tackle.

RE: Clements Injury
Seriously, you're still bagging on Sims after his performance today? He did well last week, and he did a good job today filling in at LT. Why can't you guys give credit where credit is due?

Sims stinks and Snyder is a better Guard than tackle. Sims played very well.....Snyder sucks. Staley should be moved to RT and we should draft a LT.

Sims stinks and Snyder is a better Guard than tackle. No one on this board has bad mouthed Sims as bad or probably as much as I have. From the day we picked him up from the Raiders I was screaming. Heck the season before we picked him up he tied the league record for false start penalties and I just couldn't see why we would pick him up. However yesterday IMHO he played a darn good game. Ya have to give the devil his due. Did it make up for the rest of the games he stunk up the field? No, and it won't until and unless he turns in the rest of the season the way he played yesterday. It almost makes me gag to say it, but Kudos to Sims on his game yesterday and BTW his performance was constantly being commented on by the broadcasters as well.

Re: Clements Injury
Both Clements and Staley will miss at least 2 weeks. It says Staley will not be put on injured reserve it doesn't say either way about Clements. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/...tory?id=4617575

Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
According to Matt Maiocco so it looks like Brown starts at CB and Sims is our guy at RT. maybe Boone gets the call up.

Re: Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
Who knows! Boone may just get the call! Not a whole lot you can do at this point. Sims, I give him props for the job he's done the last two games but he too is turning to be a good bench player. I don't think he can sustain this type of play for an entire season. He has proven in the past he has concentration breakdowns. I am not discounting he can't be a starter, but just for now he is a good bench player. I believe Sims looked comfortable at the all important LT spot. Brown, I have to believe did an okay job. Couldn't quite keep up with the #s on the jerseys. Too much was going on and couldn't focus. Was a great game and stayed close the entire game. Niners can stay close but can't close out the games. Oh well, I hope Boone can be a possible answer! Stokes83 wrote: According to Matt Maiocco so it looks like Brown starts at CB and Sims is our guy at RT. maybe Boone gets the call up.

RE: Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
Go get Jon Runyan. Brown is gonna earn his money now, and have to learn quickly. Sims did play well, but can he be that good week in week out? Don't think so, but we will see. These injuries hurt, they just gotta get by, hopefully they heal quickly. Damn I'm not gonna see them in Seattle.

RE: Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
I wonder what other teams PS look like in terms of OT... Question in regards to the PS...when the Fins called about Kory Sheets, did we have an opportunity to place him on the active roster first?

Re: Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
IMO Clements injury is on Sing. Clements is an important part of the secondary, theres no need to have him returning punts. Spurlock and Jones don't do anything, we can afford an injury to one of them returning punts. Why risk Clements getting injured? Now if we get an injury to Spencer or Brown we are really screwed. The Staley injury is terrible news, our starting tackles are now Snyder and Sims? Thats gotta be the worse starting duo in football. I don't know why we have no interest in Runyan.

RE: Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
I read somewhere that Jon Runyan had knee surgery in February and be out 6-8 months. I don't think his knees can take the pounding at this point in the season, imo! He would take up a roster spot for a player that can't make it this year should the Niners go this route. I could be wrong on his status. crabsvdgood49ers wrote: Go get Jon Runyan. RE: Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
Well here comes the sacks and pressures, I am sure people will be calling for Smith's head playing behind a makeshift o-line. Just to repeat myself, it's absolutely hilarious and sad at the same time that after drafting a QB #1 five years ago, we still do not have a solid o-line in place. It's beyond ridiculous at this point.
Clements injury doesn't worry me as much as Staley's, hopefully the line holds up well because this is a critical stretch of 5 or so games that will make or break the season. I am getting quite sick of saying wait till next year, playoffs next year or in 2 years.

RE: Staley-Clements out 6-8 weeks
I was thinking about this thought the same thing. it is not like the Niners are ignoring the position. I think it is the coaching. There have been about 6-10 OL draftees & FA that the Niners obtained over the past 5 years. niner4life wrote: Well here comes the sacks and pressures, I am sure people will be calling for Smith's head playing behind a makeshift o-line.
