Dorsey out for the season!

Next man up...

Time to check out the scrap heap.  Don't know if Okoye can plug or not.  Might be time to find out.

Re: Dorsey out for the season!

I assume Dial suddenly becomes the starter? I'm not sure they have anyone else suited to playing nose tackle.

They'll definitely have to dumpster dive a bit. Fortunately, though, nose tackle is the starter on their defense that plays the fewest number of snaps. I wonder if they'll play more 4-3 alignments this season, as they tend to be a hybrid of the two schemes anyway.

Really bad luck.

Dorsey may not miss the whole year:

Different league source confirms Dorsey's injury but says it hasn't been determined whether he's out for year or not ...

I guess Ian Williams could still be back at some point, though his time line seems to be unknown right now.

Tough loss. He might be our most under appreciated defender. Had a great season last year.

Dial gets plugged in and hopefully Williams can get healthy soon.

At least we are deep at DL but this still hurts.

Opens up another roster spot I guess.

Tony Jerod-Eddie also played some snaps at nose last season, so I guess he could slide over.

Re: Dorsey out for the season!

There's so much usage of nickel and dime subpackages that losing a nose tackle isn't that big an issue. Dorsey was a failed defensive end in KC before they moved him to nose tackle in the wake of Ian William's brutal injury. The coaching staff is more than capable of figuring this out, most likely with Quinton Dial being the starter.

Rough break for a guy who really resurrected his career last year.  Hope he has a speedy recovery.  Like Kendall Hunter, Dorsey it is also damaging for this to occur in your contract year.
