Congrats 49ers!

Congrats 49ers!

On a great season. I am a Ravens fan and wanted to stop by to say what a hell of a game. You guys are the real deal and will be something to reconed with for several years to come. Kaepernick will be terrorizing teams for many years to come. Best of luck to Niners next season.

Thanks for the nice post! The Ravens certainly had a fantastic season and definitely deserved to win the Super Bowl. Enjoy the fun of a championship off-season.

Thanks Dreski.. I knew going into the playoffs your team would be the worst match up for us, simply because you guys remind me so much of us. Congrats on the win and we shall see you again next year.

Wow! I hope so! The Ravens and Niners do not play in the regular season next year, so if we do see each other again it would be in the superbowl. Talk about your stories. Let's hope it happens.

As frustrating as that loss was, for many reasons, I have complete confidence in the future of the franchise. Baalke and Harbaugh have done an amazing job thus far, and I expect that to continue. We have a franchise QB, most starters returning, and a ton of draft picks to work with. It was a great season, and I'm proud of the organization.

Well said. There's always a sharp disappointment in missing out on a possible championship, because you never know how many shots you'll get, but the 49ers seem well set up to contend for more titles. I have a lot of confidence in Baalke and Harbaugh to keep infusing new talent into the organization and a young star (potential superstar) quarterback puts the most important single piece in place, especially when you combine it with a great and mostly very young offensive line.

RE: Congrats 49ers!

I think that the 49ers are in better shapes than my Ravens for the future.  We have cap issues to work out and we have to figure out how to pay Flacco. It seems like most of stars on the 49ers are on their rookie contract.  Both of our schedules will be brutal though.  The AFC North is always tough, and we have the Patriots, Texans, and Broncos to look forward too. The NFC West has been on the rise, and the Falcons and Packers are going to be back as strong as ever, even the Redskins might be tough if RGIII is healthy. Just happy that we don't have to play you for another 3 years.

The 49ers and Ravens both have the interesting similarity of being in extremely defense-intensive divisions. Every team in the AFC North has a a solid or better defense, even the worst team, the Browns. Similarly, every team in the NFC West has a solid or better defense, even the Cardinals. I think that tends to make schedules even more brutal...even if you expect to beat the Browns or Cardinals, you'll probably get beaten up a bit doing it.

Fellas, your Niners are the real deal.  They're gonna make some noise in the NFC for years to come.  One 52 to another now carries the torch as the best LB in football.  Very well coached team.  That Kaep is so friggin' agile and cat-like quick, it's really sick.  Good luck, SF fans.

I officially and indefinitely boycott Heinz products as they sponsor evil.

RE: Congrats 49ers!

Hard to disagree with any of this.  I am also excited about the future and have faith in our coaching staff and front office.

The one question mark for me still on Baalke's resume (and Harbaugh's too to an extent) is the 2012 draft.  While the 49ers' 2011 draft may end up being historically great, the 2012 draft has been underwhelming to date.  To be fair, there really wasn't much PT available for rookies to join the team and make an impact.  But you'd like to see your first round pick make more of an impact than Jenkins did.  James came on pretty well down the stretch, but so far he's the only one.

As for the coaches, I have complete confidence in the guys we have now, but it will be interesting to see who replaces the guys, if any, that we lose.

Thanks for the kind words Ravens fans and congrats on your SB victory. You guys had a hell of a season. Hopefully its the 49ers turn next year. We will be seeing you in our new stadium 2015, unless theres a SB rematch before then.

I have to say thats the biggest reason why I am not as upset as I should be on our loss in the SB.  The kid CK7 has showed soooo much promise this year and during the playoffs that I am completely in shock.  His rocket arm and speed reminds me of M. Vick but accurate lol.  And now after having a day to think back on it, losing to the Ravens isnt so bad since your fans are quite classy as well as most of your players. Im glad Ed Reed won one as he is a BEAST.

Re: Congrats 49ers!

It's a good thing the Ravens did it this year!  I looked at the FA list, brutal:

1. Over the salary cap
2. Joe Flacco - Starter
3. Ed Reed - Starter
4. Dannell Ellerbe - Starter
5. Cary Williams - Starter
6. Dickson & Pitta (RFAs) - They going to want raises!
7. Bryant McKinnie - Well, he did get benched.
8. Arthur Jones - Starter
9. Maake Kemoeatu - Starter

I may have missed some.

Retired:
1. Ray Lewis
2. Ed Reed???

That is 6 starters and 1 super star retiring.  Not sure what the Ravens can afford after Flacco & Ed Reed?  Dennis Pitta played lights out in the post season.
No play is too big for Colin Kaepernick!!!

Re: Congrats 49ers!

Let me add to it.

I was at the game and was sitting in a 49ers dominated section.  I had heard warnings about 49ers fans so I didn't know what to expect.  Well, nothing but class! You guys were terrific.  And, just like your team, you dind't give up even when down 28-6.

After the game, you all congratulated us and we all exchanged lots of hugs and handshakes.  Your fans represented you guys very well and I wanted to come here and say thank you.

As for the game, what else can be said!  All time classic.  The difference was the experience factor.  Your quarterback was shaky in the first half and it cost you.  And your coach, I think, showed his "rookieness" with some play calling.  Especially at the end.  I think you have to give the ball to your running back or have Kaep run it.  Those are your two biggest weapons and they never used them.  Jim reminds me of the way John was 4 or 5 years ago.  I think you will see a different guy as time goes by.  He will be more polished.

I was also confident that, if you did score, Flacco would come right back with a game winning drive.  There was two minutes left with 3 timeouts so I was not panicking.

Overall, I think you have the better talent but our experience won out.  I was extremely impressed with your team, especially the quarterback play.  After such a shaky start, he came back and was within a whisker of taking the lead.  Well done!  There is no doubt in my mind the 49ers will be there again within the next couple of years.

Congrats on a terrific year and one hell of a fight on Sunday.

LOL......I was flying out of Houston to SJC on United Flt 317 from gate C-33 flight was fully booked with the majority of it wearing red and gold...........the flight leaving gate C-33 directly in front of us was going to DCA and was also fully booked predominate color?  Purple of course.  With all that interaction in the waiting area it could have been ugly, but actually was no problem at all...all interaction that took place was pretty cordial.  Says a lot for the fans on both sides.

I was watching NFLN and it was mentioned that 17 out of the Niners 22 starters is UNDER the age of 30. Wow! I agree with the other fellow Ravens fan - I am damn glad we will not see you guys again for another two or three years; unless it is another SB scenario which is not out of the realm of possibility. You guys in my opinion are the most complete team by far when you look at offense, defense and ST.

I believe the Ravens / Steelers rivalry is still the best in football because both teams have been so good for so long; but that Niners / Seahawks rivalry will be a thing of beauty also for many years to come as both teams are extremely talented and young. Best of luck Niners next year. Love your team, organization and the way you guys play.

Re: Congrats 49ers!

Agree strongly with Dreski's comment.  SF is a great team that will be in the fight for years to come.  Ravens have some cap issues, but are making smart decisions to stay in the fight, though next year will be hard.  Congrats 49er fans.
