RE: Gameday!

Cheated how? Every commentator and ref that reviewed that play said inside 5 yds, contact is legal and that was a good no call.
Blame Matty Ice for a terrible read or even Roddy White for not running the route deep enough.

And most importantly, enjoy the game today!!!!

Re: Gameday!

how ridiculous. first off, you are bordering on smack talk which would qualify this for the smack talk forum.

2nd- you do realize that contact happened within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage and therefore is totally legal?

your conspiracy theory is ludicrous, frankly.

prediction: CK will run the read option but run it to the opposite side of the option run. IOW he'll fake to the RB and then run it the opposite side that the RB ran to. result= big play!

The Falcons receivers were getting away with murder on the field during that game.

Enough of that.  Fellow 49er fans let us start the chanting;

"BRING IT HOME FROM THE DOME!"

Mike Pereira, former NFL former Vice President of Officiating and Senior Director of Officiating, said that the refs got it right.

THE PLAY: Ryan dropped back and threw a pass to Roddy White at the 6-yard line that was knocked away at the last second by NaVorro Bowman. The 49ers took over on downs.

MY TAKE: To me, this was the play of the game and the biggest decision the officials had to make.

Bowman stepped up and chucked White at the 5-yard line, which is legal since Ryan had not yet passed the ball. White then broke to the inside and Bowman stuck his left hand in to knock the pass away. It was just a great defensive play.

Yes, there was contact, but the chuck occurred before the pass and the contact after that was not enough to be considered pass interference. I have seen flags thrown in similar situations, but in my mind, those calls were incorrect. It takes a certain discipline — one that I feel is actually harder — to stay away from calling the DPI in that situation.

Good luck to the Falcons next year.

The Falcons only got to that point because the refs blew the catch call on Harry Douglas.

Go enjoy your team choking again!

Enjoy watching the Super Bowl birdy. You'll get over losing the NFC Championship game, give it some time.

My two favorite teams are the 49ers and whoever is playing Seattle.

Re: OFFICIAL SUPERBOWL 47 GAMETHREAD

3 keys to the game:

1. Get off to a fast start. We were down 7 nothing to the Packers and then 17 nothing to the Falcons. The Ravens defense can make it tough to come from behind, as we saw when they played the Patriots. I feel confident CK will be ready to go.

2. The Smith brothers. I read Justin's arm is feeling good, (want to say I heard he is considering playing without the brace but can't confirm) he is going to have a big game. Look for Aldon to get back into sack mode, after going something like 5 games without recording one.

3. Special teams. We can't have any fumbles returning kicks or punts, can't have missed FG opportunities (I'm talking makeable kicks, not a 50+ yarder to close out the half) and we can't give up any big returns.

My two favorite teams are the 49ers and whoever is playing Seattle.

my difference maker today- aldon smith. he will come through and have a big game. in addition to the usual suspects (c-tree, davis, gore) i also expect a big play or 2 from lamichael james and possibly from ginn and a big game from moss. i expect our D to get after flacco too.

So...basically you expect everyone on the 49ers to be awesome.

I'm on board. tongue
