yeah ok ... rolleyes

If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

Kaboom.  Carlos Rogers misses a pick, then, gets burnt.  ........Or, just great touch by russell wilson.....something Kaep doesn't have.  .....but, Kaep has tats and a fastball.

Beating New England means nothing.  It was a non conference game.  I would rather have gotten blown out by the Patriots and won in Seattle.  That way the last game would mean nothing but rest the starters because it would have been for the divsion.

I don't know if all is forgotten. The bye and home game against the Packers are likely gone now. The road just got a whole lot tougher.

That SF team is a shell of it's former self without Justin Smith

As soon as he goes out, the Pats rally for 28 straight points, Aldon Smith has yet to have a sack without him there and the Seahawks thoroughly abused Aldon Smith and Justin Smith’s replacement in the running game.  Stay tuned Niner fans.

Where are you getting this info? The report I saw said he's out for the rest of the regular season. I just checked rotoworld for an update:

"Coach Jim Harbaugh admitted that he doesn't know if RE Justin Smith (elbow) will be back for the playoffs."

Its looking highly doubtful he's back for AZ, I'm hoping he will be in the playoffs. I don't know what the injury is, but given that he didn't play last night, I guarantee you its bad.

My two favorite teams are the 49ers and whoever is playing Seattle.

I think u r right. My bad. Got my info from apparently unreliable radio source. It just made sense since I saw he was questionable leading up to the game. If last night is any indication, Niners are in big trouble without him.

Re: As a niner fan, I am concerned.....

This loss, itself, wasn't deeply concerning to me. There isn't a top team that doesn't have a bad loss or two on their season résumé. The injuries concern me, especially Justin Smith's, and the potential loss of the first round bye concerns me. Both would make the team's trip to a championship considerably harder. That said, we've seen a number of recent runs to championships that didn't take a dominant wire-to-wire path, notably the Giants and Packers of the past two years (both barely squeaked into the playoffs and thus had to play all three conference playoff rounds...the Packers had to play every round on the road).

The 49ers need to re-focus, beat Arizona and then we need to hope that they peak in the playoffs. Getting Justin Smith back is pretty key to that. Hopefully, Manningham wasn't lost for the season (Will Carroll, a noted expert on sports injuries, was quoted on Sports Illustrated's site saying that while the injury looked bad, that isn't sufficient to say that it was actually devastating--he noted that Beanie Wells had a similarly bad buckle and was back out there again soon after. Of course, he also noted that Wells had a brace that helped take some of the load, whereas Manningham didn't). Hopefully, also, Vernon Davis' concussion won't keep him out of any playoff games.

The 49ers aren't the "dominant team," but I don't see a dominant team in the NFL this year. There isn't a team like last year's Packers in my opinion (and, of course, those Packers didn't even make the NFC CG)...the Falcons are the dominant team by record, but they don't seem like an overwhelming force.

The loss was disappointing, especially in how non-competitive it was, but it doesn't have a greater significance to me (like that it proves that the 49ers are X or Y). They weren't overwhelming favorites before the loss, they're not pretenders now. They're just one of a handful of teams that can win it all if things go their way in January...as they were before the loss.

Suffering and rejoicing 49er fan since '69!

RE: As a niner fan, I am concerned.....

Lets just hope that the bad games stays in regular season.
To me, the loss was annoying. I have a brotherinlaw, he's a diehard Hawks fan.
So I'm going to hear about this loss up until next season.
The things that concern me are the injuries. We obviously need Justin to fight in the trenches. Hes imo the MVP on the D.
If he goes down - well you saw it sunday night.

From Denmark, I wish you all a merry chrismas, and a happy new year - with ring #6

I'm not really worried. The Seahawks just play good on their home field and they won't have that advantage in the playoffs. I say the Niners practice hard this week & if they can dominate the Cards that'd be great momentum heading into the playoffs.

+1.  We hit a hot team in their house.  We aren't that bad.

Seattle is 3-5 in road games this year and if it wasn't for a last second TD in Chicago they would of been 2-6.  They won't have the advantage of playing home games in the playoffs.
