QUESTION:WHAT HAS HAPPENED

QUESTION:WHAT HAS HAPPENED

For the years that we were struggling this board was very active but it seems since we have had some success over the last two years it is becoming much less active. Why?

They're migrating this forum from what I understand too so some people might be posting at that new forum.

RE: QUESTION:WHAT HAS HAPPENED

now that we're a winning team, there's not enough to vent and complain about!

lol- i dunno. i haven't had the chance to be around near as much as usual. i hope to see a resurgence in activity as the season goes on!

Re: QUESTION:WHAT HAS HAPPENED

I think some people may be in that "awkward" state of now expecting wins and being disappointed that the team isn't dominant. wink So there's neither much to vent about (because they are having success) but also not a lot for them to talk excitedly about (because they're disappointed over losing to the Vikings or tying the Rams or other things that suggest the 49ers aren't dominant like they were in the 1980s or early- to mid-90s).

If that's the case, I actually prefer it to how things were in the Steve Mariucci/Jeff Garcia years, when there was nonstop criticism of the team despite being a playoff team.

On the other hand, it may just be that the team is rather stable. There aren't a lot of "new developments" to talk about with the way Harbaugh runs things. They win and lose in the same way, with the same style. There's little off-the-field drama. It's an understated operation. tongue

Exactly...when the only thing we have left to argue about is Alex Smith...we're probably okay. The depth of this team is tremendous, we can't even criticize or defend our draft picks!

Although, I'd be willing to bet this board heats up when the playoff picture becomes a little more clear.

Just before last game I was thinking the same thing. I noticed that the board on gameday, usually abuzz with complaints during the game, appears to be devoid of all, save a half dozen or so.

Go to almost any other team's board and they easily more than double our conversations during the game.

Re: QUESTION:WHAT HAS HAPPENED

For me, it's a simple case of being so busy that I hardly get time to be in front of a desktop and NOT be doing work. I can whip out my phone and mess around with Twitter for 2-3 minutes and get back to my day. And visiting most message boards on my phone is just too clunky

Re: QUESTION:WHAT HAS HAPPENED

Yeah I am a culprit for not being as active as I normally am... guess it's a combination of being a little busy plus not much to talk about ... I am in a holding pattern just wantng to see if we last and are for real... in the end... in harbaugh I trust so I guess I want to see where we go with it!

If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

Yeah....pretty much what Q8 said.  One of my biggest beef's in years past was the O-Line.  Still not the best, not much to gripe about eithercool  I'm disappointed in Akers play so far, but no one is perfect, and it's hard to slam a guy that carried you for so long when you had nothing to offer.  I'm not content because of the loss to the RAMS in particular.  Tonights game will tell a lot but like Q8 said I want to see where we go with what we have right now.

Guilty here as well. Bought a house that was a foreclosure and the yard front and back were in disrepair. Been busy working on that. Plus my wife and I have our first baby on the way. She is 7 months now. So been painting and putting together the baby room too. I always come read the forums, but for me alot of games have been watched on the dvr this year and not live.

Well then DVR the yard work, painting and baby room so you can watch the games live! wink

Kind of makes me think of that movie Click with Adam Sandler where he could fast forward through all the junk he didn't enjoy doing to get to what he likes doing lol.

Anyways it looks like the QB controversy is making the board more active.

Imagine if widespread Internet had existed when Montana and Young were embroiled in their own controversy in the late-80s.

As a poster who fits the "posts less" category, i would say that this is closer than the whole "migrating" thing. I've always had an account on the official team forum.

But instead of posting here more, I'm re-watching our awesome games. I've watched the Bears game like 6 times already. Besides that, I'm searching through all the articles talking about how awesome we are.

All of this takes up my internet time.  tongue

Alex: Y..yes.
Kap: Is THIS your locker?
Alex: ... no.
Kap: Who's locker is it?
Alex: ...yours.

Re: QUESTION:WHAT HAS HAPPENED

I have to say and have said this before but this forum has taught me a lot about football in general.

Like others have said, when things are going bad, just more things to talk or argue about.  We all have our opinions on how to build a franchise.  We all put on our GM caps!

To answer another way, sometimes things just come up, good or bad.  Projects, deadlines, family health, broken computertongue (User error), or just something or a combination of things.
No play is too big for Colin Kaepernick!!!

I know what you mean about broken computers.  Morning coffee and a happy dog and a now wet keyboard, don't mix well.

Wow!

There were 14 pages of comments during the game practically double the previous two!
