Was there a link in all that? Or by "they" did you mean your collection of volleyballs with faces painted on them?

Firefox won't let me post links, but here is what you can paste.  Just click on position and find the player.

As a group they are on pace for 25 for the year - either better than the 29 or worse than the 19 from last year, depending on who you believe.

Look at Colon.  In 41 starts he has had 23 penalties and given up 19.5 sacks.  Wow.

Yeah, look at Colon. He's on pace for giving up 2 sacks this year.

Re: OL stats

Damn!  Considering stats mean everything in football, even more than winning, I guess it's time for the Steelers to just throw in the towel and plan for next year.  And just when I was starting to enjoy the season.  Oh, well.

So who do we take in the first round come April?

I use FF, just drag and drop.

Players

Robin Cole #56 played LB for twelve seasons for the Steelers. Though he played with many great Pittsburgh linebackers, he is considered one of the best from his peers.

Re: OL stats

They obviously gave that 19 yard sack to Essex. Remember that one? Essex let his guy through, Ben dodged him and then ran around for twelve minutes and then took the sack. The QB pressure was on Essex, the sack was on Ben. If this is indicative of their methodology, then their stats should be taken with a grain of salt.

RE: OL stats

co;on is among the worst starting RT's in football. Funny how all these folk want to defend his play now, it was only a year ago when they all said he was more suitable for guard....then again, simmmons was more suitable for C, mahan 2 years afo was more suitable for a G, marvel should have been moved back to RT, etc.

Matt, you been here longer than me, you should know by now all abount the blatant homerism on this board. Folk here just cant say when a steeler sucks. Funny thing is though, if we traded colon, no one here would be talking about losing a talent. The trend here is to just project a bad player to another position. Lot easier for them than just saying they suck.

bettis, your player analyzation of colon should be taken very seriously considering you thought duke robinson was a first rounder....colon is a top tier RT in this league who has gotten better every year. Players take time to develop sometimes, particularly those who came from 1AA and willie has developed nicely

True, but you take the other direction way too extreme. Pretty much every guy sucks, and the ones who suck, suck really hard.

Basically, most people here are slightly biased too favorably. You are ridiculously biased in the other direction (actually, I'm pretty sure you're just a guy trying to get attention). Then, there's the truth in between: that's where I'm at.

Those numbers look good. From what I got from those number was our OL is very well disciplined.

and again i will reiterate, if you can make it to the NFL you dont suck period, some players are better than others but it takes a good football player to make it to that level.......except for duke robinson

Grrr. No defense to bettis, but Colon is NOT a top tier RT, LT, G, C, overall player. He's a hack that can't go 5 plays without seemingly getting a penalty. He's decent in run blocking, and almost adequate in pass protection. Easily the weakest link on the o-line.

i totally disagree, if you go by this year he doesnt have that many penalties, and i would bet heath has as many is he a hack? Also if you say he is merely adequate in run blocking and pass blocking you arent looking at it through 2009 eyes, you are like many who develop an opinion and dont give a guy time to develop.....willie is a top tier lineman and if we dont resign him you will see that i am not the only one who thinks that

Slow down, It's hard to keep up with who all you think sucks on this team. BFD, you can say certain players suck, but you had better back it up with more than just opinion. Especially when you say that Ben sux, it makes people not take your opinion seriously. Anyways, let's take a look at who you have as sucking so far:

Spaeth

Gay

Mendenhall

Ben

Sepulveda

Sweed

Arians

Tomlin

Colon - the whole Oline really

Fluery

Am I missing anyone?
