No surprise, he's a better fit for a 4/3.

Ziggy looked good. Played with the two's. Looks right at home in a 4-3. His sack was pretty. He's got some nice pass rush moves. Gets decent penetration and looks disruptive at times. Quick, powerful, good hand use, high motor. I think he will prove to be a positive addition for them. Best of luck to him.

Where did he end up again?
-"I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest. If you can't take it, you shouldn't play." Lambert.
-"The only thing I want to see different is that there were a lot of Steelers fans there, which is great for the Steelers, but this is our home." Holmgren

Idiotic pick on multiple levels.

Jim Wexell on us not being able to keep Lewis because he wanted to go home:

Complete nonsense of course. Ziggy played for several years at a decent level and is still a quality NFL player.

So you defend Ziggy and rip Roethlisberger.  Makes perfect sense to me.

I've criticized both but to suggest the pick was "idiotic on multiple levels" is simply not the case. To say it didn't work out to be as great as the FO hoped would be a better statement, and more accurate.

Who would you have picked? And did you feel the same at draft time? Of course, we all see you are a hingsight genius beyond reproach but let's try and stick to the facts.

I personally wanted Rey Maualuga that year.

Re: ziggy just got a sack

He was a short penetrating DT and a poor fit for the scheme and we had huge needs elsewhere.  He then stunted Heywards development because of the Mitchell Union Shop on D.  In an article today from Wex Beechum talks about Heyward and the need to actually play to develop.

I wanted Max Unger and had we drafted him instead maybe the Ben pick as Kemo gets beat in the SB doesn't happen and he has 3 rings.

just more of your blinders regarding ben. any quarterback should have seen Kemo getting smoked right in front of him and not double clutch the throw but would have thrown it away

No, blinders were those defending Kordell until the very end.  Expecting a pocket and a few seconds to pass shouldn't be too much to ask for.

Just because Ben is a star QB and better than Kordell doesn't mean he is without fault or the need to improve in areas. You seem to not comprehend this.

It's like telling Einstien his IQ could be a few points higher.

It's nothing like that. It's more like Einstein saying, "I know this way is better but I won't want to do it that way," until he does, accepts someone teaching him something and prospers.

Re: ziggy just got a sack

People defending the Hood pick is hilarious. The FO made a mistake. Period. They drafted a square peg for a round hole. End of story. It's no different than the Aaron Donald situation this year. He's a great player, but he didn't fit in this defense. His talents would have been wasted just like Hoods were. Hood is a good player and should excel now that he's playing the right position. Not every FO decision has to be defended.

These coaches get paid millions to figure this stuff out....if you can't coach to a player's strengths then you need a better coach/system.
