LB's - Who makes the cut?

LB's - Who makes the cut?

I know it's early and will shake it's self out over the preseason, But the team seems to have a gang of young, hungry LB's led by Mr. Porter who is bringing out the fire in them.  Who would u keep, who will u cut?

Butler is no longer the LB coach?

Re: LB's - Who makes the cut?

Timmons
Shaz
Jones
Worilds
Moats
Spence
WIlliams
Garvin

Can't let any of these go, all starting material. Maybe room for one more?

That last cut is going to be difficult. wonder if they can trade one for picks?

Re: LB's - Who makes the cut?

trades are so unlikely unless it's for a depleted unit ala Jones last year for Robinson. Eagles had a glut of backs, and we had a glut of OLB's. Neither guy really worked out for either team. Jones was just a guy and Robinson was cut. Now, if we trade Vince Williams to a team for a draft pick that would awesome. Chris Carter may end up a chip as well.

I have no idea but it is a good problem to have.

I'd take your list but Garvin out, Chris Carter or even Howard Jones in. Probably Carter, unfortunately. I don't think they have an imbalance of 2/3 OLBs and 5/6 ILBs (with Moats counting as both). And maybe Zoom plays up to a certain someone's expectations when he comes off from his injury. Which makes me wonder...does this make him injury prone like Bell and Shamarko?

What about Zumwalt?

I am thinking 9 also. No way Garvin isn't on the final roster, I think he's a lock. ST's demon, plays in and out with ferocity and speed. Ideal swing guy we have only seen guys like Sylvester get used for. He is already better at all of it than Sly ever was

I think this is the winning combo.

Wolf and tunch called c carter a "coach killer" in that he looks great/in shape/practices well but never delivers. I'd rather have howard jones there rather than potentially losing him.

I bet they keep Carter, unfortunately. Zumwalt and Jones to PS. The rest are obvious, plus Garvin.

Tough call but. Lots of depth. TC and pre-season will ultimately determine things. Good problem to have.

Timmons 94...........................Guess I've failed to observe Cris Carter doing anything of value on he field...Is he a special teams demon ???????? Please advise why you'd keep Carter and risk Howard Jones being plucked off the PS by another team ???????????????????

Leave Zoom alone or you'll have a log-jam of "Homers" chasing you like a paper-boy for his two bucks.

This Offense has a franchise QB, WR, TE, and RB. Now, is that OL going to mature or what?

3 OLB counting Moats & 4 ILB and Garvin on special teams....
Pretty much how it has to be , except I believe they need a 9th LB who could be OLB capable.
Zumwalt or HoJo maybe?

Re: LB's - Who makes the cut?

Garvin is the 4th OLB, and, the 5th ILB. I can't see either Zoom or Hojo making it, Zoom is a PS odd man out thanks to late to the party and injured on top of Garvin himself being way too far ahead of him, and, more talented.

Yeah, can't see Zumwalt making it.

Is Spence a keeper also?

HoJo? Carter?

I'd say still much to be determined, Good problems to have.

Re: LB's - Who makes the cut?

I left the 9th spot out because it's between Carter and Jones, and, I have yet to see Jones. We need to see Carter/Jones in the games. Jones is a D2 or whatever DE, he is not likely to be assignment sound in any way this year so I fully expect Carter to get the 9th spot if there is one. There is so much safety, WR, DL and even OL talent to choose from I feel Carter or Jones would have to win that spot from those other stacked areas because Garvin CAN play both at above the line

Re: LB's - Who makes the cut?

Seems like Butler isn't in love with Worilds work ethic.

On  Jason Worilds :
“He’s still getting better. He has a lot of talent but Jason has to decide whether he wants to be good or not and he has to do the things he’s got to do to be good, and that’s work his butt off in practice all the time. I think he’s willing to do that. He’s been willing to do that in years past. It’s just now a lot more is on it than it’s been in years past. He wants to do well. He has to do the things in practice that are going to get him where he needs to go.”

Might be a good thing we don't extend him with a big contract.

Coaches prodding. Squeeze that last step outta him so he can really prove that long term commitment
