"Dream" Offseason

"Dream" Offseason

After the infamous "Dream Team" moniker that Vince Young bestowed on the Eagles and last season which we thought would be much better, I thought I would start a Dream Offseason thread.

Who do you want to pick in the draft?

What Free Agents do you want to see in Philly?

Who gets cut loose this year?

Granted this is all speculation and personal choices. I know some may be a little out of the ordinary and would not happen. Again it is a Dream and personal choices. So have at it.....

BTW, anyone who attacks another poster for their personal views will be banned. This is something fun. Some posters may not agree with what others want. That is fine. Don't be criticizing their choices.

Re: "Dream" Offseason

My personal choices:

Draft DT Star Lotulelei, OT Lane Johnson, S Zeke Motta with first three picks. I doubt Johnson will be around for our 2nd pick but if he is grab him. Justin Pugh would work in the 2nd also.

FA - S Dashon Goldson, LB Anthony Spencer, LB Rey Maualuga

Goldson vastly improves the secondary with his skills. He may cost a bunch though. Spencer is a heck of a player and getting him from the cowboys is rewarding enough. He too will want the big bucks though. Not too sure if he is worth it. Maualuga would fit in 3-4 or 4-3 for us and either start or provide valuable backup.

Resign DRC. He looked bad last year, but was better than Aso. Resign him for no more than two years. He gives us veteran leadership on a team that needs it.

Resign OG Jake Scott. ... He played well when we signed him. He would be valuable as a backup or possible starter next season.

That is  a start. With the new coaching staff, this team will surely get a major overhaul over the next year or two.

My perfect draft,  some team lower in the draft falls in live with player X who is available at 4.   They trade us next year's 1st to move up, and we get Chance W.

Yankee, it is tough to figure just what the upside is for Star in our system.   I am not totally comfortable that I understand our defensive scheme yet, so do we need a 350lb block eating nose, or, will a 320 lb penetrator be more effective?

Re: "Dream" Offseason

For Safety I'd like to see them get Reed and Goldson in free agency they'd be a perfect combo with both of their hitting abilities and the way Reed can cover in passing and the way Goldson plays the run.  Reeds gonna be a hall of famer I know he's got a small window left in his career but this is a "dream team" after all right? Then signing Mike Jenkins at CB from dallas and either dwayne Bowe or greg jennings at wr I wouldnt make either of them a priority though.  The order of the draft Ill give you position wise but i'm watching walking dead and dont feel like going through players just to give an idea of what I'm thinking it's not to thorough though
1st-OT
2nd-CB
3rd-LB
4th-WR
5th-S
6th-OL
7th-WR

I've thought about that also. Mayock (draft "genius") has him ranked #2 among DT's. This years DE/DT class is deep. We could trade down and get two players to fit our needs and not miss too much.

Jenkins and Patterson were just cut so we will probably be going DT early in the draft.
