Stuck in a dilemma.

Stuck in a dilemma.
I've quite rationally concluded that we'd be better off losing the next game and hoping for a higher draft pick. After all, our season is long over this year. There's no reason for us to win that game. But every time that I have myself convinced of the sound logic of that conclusion, another thought keeps reoccurring, without any ability on my part to stop it. And that is, 'Wait a minute! This is the Giants that we're talking about here. I HATE losing to the Giants!..... EVER!..... For any reason!'. Then a lower draft pick doesn't seem all that bad to me. I think that I could live with it. I'm still barely clinging to my original conclusion, and hoping for the higher pick. But once I look out on that field and see those Giants uniforms, I fear that my natural reaction will overcome me.... And I'll completely forget about that draft pick.

I want the better draft pick Sounds like you're looking for an excuse for losing 9 out of the last 10 in advance. Have a little faith in your team. The game hasn't even started. You could still make the playoffs by beating us. We have absolutely no reason to win the game except for the sheer pleasure of beating up on the Giants. And we've already gone through the practice squad, and have been starting guys that we've signed off the street. If your guys can't win this game, they might never win another one against us. Must be very frustrating for you Giants fans.

Let me get this straight. You're so happy to ever get a win against the Eagles that it doesn't matter that half of the guys on the field were at or below our practice squad? That we're going to come away from the game with a higher draft pick. And that you're sitting at the bottom of the NFCE right next to us with a lower pick. Congratulations! Good work! And thanks for proving what I've always suspected. That Giants fans are so desperate to win a game against the Eagles. That even a meaningless game like this. Where we're starting guys that we signed off the street a couple of weeks ago. Where winning would have actually put us in a worse position. Is a reason for hope for you. So now you're 2-8 out of the last 10. Might as well enjoy it while you can. Because you've got to try to avoid getting shut out by us all over again next season.

yankeeboy1046 wrote: A win is a win and a loss is a loss.... enough said..... Just one of a dozen for this year. And although I hate to lose to the Giants. If I had to pick one game to lose to 'em, this would've been it. Might as well get a good draft pick out of this (second in a row) wasted season.

How about getting this straight; it's about Superbowl Championships not parading around for defeating the NY Giants. Sry you lost your Superbowl today but for the Giants it was just a meaningless win.

Re: Stuck in a dilemma.
I was hoping for like 70-0. It's been real easy to root against this team the last two years. Really easy team to hate. Never seen a bunch of guys that accomplished nothing talk so much. Can't wait for the purge to start.

But I hate to lose to the Giants (or the Redskins, Cowboys). And losing this game didn't bother me at all. The way that this team just seems to have quit these last 2 years has definitely made 'em the least likable Eagles team ever for me. I can take losing, don't like it but I can handle it, but quitting bothers me.

Re: Stuck in a dilemma.
just curious, how was it our superbowl today and not yours? we basically had a coach who was already (reportedly) fired, and a fanbase who were cheering for the Giants and for the most part (me included) didnt even tune in. NYSPORTS98 wrote:

Were you lying then, or now? Seems like a big deal for you. After all, it happens so rarely. You should take a lesson from your fellow Eagles fans and recognize your celebrations are as hollow as if I and other Giants fans were celebrating yesterday's meaningless victory. You celebrate basically nothing and simply don't get it . . . still You should take a few lessons from a basic critical thinking class. If you're not celebrating your meaningless victory what's your reason for posting? BTW, you said that you wanted that higher draft pick. Were you lying then or now?

Sry your team lost your personal Superbowl and can't parade around you bedroom. At least your board members get it.

Sry your team lost your personal Superbowl and can't parade around you bedroom. No need for apologies. They didn't. And you're parading around the board for my personal amusement right now. You're just too stupid to realize it. At least your board members get it. I don't blame you for trying to look for support over here. After all, you haven't exactly been doing so well by yourself. Good luck with that. You'll definitely need it.
